HG Really needs to add an /unstuck
With the amount of times ive ended up clipping through the Freighters floor when trying to edit the design and then losing 30m-1 hours of work due to having to reload a save, NMS is in dire need of an unstuck feature that teleports you to the bridge.

Your losing 29 hours?

When I am building/decorating something, I always have my save-thing-o-matic close to me. I am saving every few minutes. You should do the same, so it doesnt matter this much.
But yeah, unstuck-thing-o-matic would be a solution too. :)

I have to agree. I was putting in windows for dividers and slammed one on top of my avatar. I was able to make a save point and then proceeded to do several reloads and trying to shimmy out of the wall. Some how I managed to get on top of my save point, delete it and then I could delete corners of rooms. It eventually released me and I lost no time. A right click de-bug option would be helpful. Especially if it works on everything in the game.

You could just use the free flying camera when building....

If you do it right (delete a section the camera is in) you get to build form the outside instead of the interior.

...anywhere between 3-30hrs without a save is impressive...but jesting aside...

freighters are particularly glitchy at the moment while HG tries to resolves all the bugs introduced with the endurance update/fixes and the ones the 'expedition+freighters+MP' combo have brought to the surfaces...

so pro-tip place a save point just outside the bridge (at the beginning of the buildable area) and use it often,
(if x number of hours building is worth doing then it's gotta also be worth protecting)

PS. lots of falling thru floors on the freighter can be a sign that your rig is having trouble 'keeping-up'/rendering the scene and you might be better off tweaking/lowering something in your graphics settings

I feel for your pain, but sounds like a user error to me. Maybe get a permanent friend who can "unstuck" you. You will need to give them base building privileges and hope they are a TRUE friend.

Been stuck on a roof when the ladder fell...but that was real life.

We're asking for an easy button. Not laying blame. Thank God that no one on this thread makes any decisions for HG. Hope is still alive and kicking.
I've never clipped through a floor since the Endurance update dropped....

Maybe don't change rooms when you're near them

Haha took me a few seconds to see that.

I like the idea of a "unstuck" button. I've been in my starship stuck in takeoff and there's nothing to do but kill the game session and reload my last save. Ofc, I'm in the habit of making frequent manual saves so I haven't lost anywhere near 29 hours, maybe 5-10 mins.
+1. I have a 250 hour permadeath save that is stuck in the geometry of a permanent POI. Of course an /unstuck command would likely kick you through the geometry to your death.

Depends what they choose the unstuck destination to be. Two decades ago when World of Warcraft had it added it would send you to your Hearthstone location. Other games used a nearby common spawn point.

The other issue to consider is abuse of unstuck. Like say using unstuck teleports you to the station in the system as if you exited the portal, which would be a safe common destination. How many people would abuse that simply because they were too lazy to flay back to the station?

Maybe it could just put you in your ship. Or teleport you to the nearest waypoint. But even that could be abused.

Well in my decades of playing online games I have found that player will try to find a way to abuse anything. I would say what if it is your ship is stuck, but it would be destroyed before you could use an unstuck command.
