This is great, if only to know there's no need to experiment much further (unless interested in obsessively min/maxing etc of course.) Mostly just a case of finding any food that gives the desired 'primary' bonus for your chosen frigate, and of course there aren't many bonuses to choose from. I found this easy with very basic foods, didn't need to do any advanced cooking.

Have you found any info regarding spawning sacs? Specifically, whether there are any triggers that increase the drop rates in certain frigate missions? Looks like most people are giving up, possibly duping them if required etc... the rates are ridiculously low and unreliable. Frigate missions can only be changed/refreshed every 24 hours, and even then only by making sure to move the freighter to a new system before they reset. (Not necessarily for everyone or every system- apparently- but that's quite consistent for me.) It's a real PITA trying to track any of the relevant info.

Is there anything relevant to this in the game files? Or is it all just hidden by contextual seed generation?

ahhh, this explains why the same food was giving different stat boosts to different frigates.
