Efficient way to farm tritium?
I'm looking for an efficient way to get this. is farming asteroids the fastest way? if so, are there ideal weapons I can use to farm faster?

They made it a lot harder recently. You can still get moderate amounts at some stations. I use the stations I mark with the Suffix Trit on the end of the name, and the pilots that land in both my settlement and in stations.

You can farm the asteroids but that tends to bring combat fights on and it is not super efficient to begin with.

I hope someone knows a better way but that is what I have been doing.

Great idea, too bad naming systems and planets isn't working atm, at least for some of us.

Every pirate station I have visited has had tritium.

Dude. No. Just buy them unless you find shooting asteroids fun. There are very many ways to buy them. Go to a starport on a surface and wait for other ships to land and then trade. Whenever you go to your freighter, trade with those who go into your freighter. In this playthrough I don't even bother building farms. I just keep buying from ships.

It has become a pain to get 2000 to 4000. I do outlaw station runs. Grab cores/eggs for nanites, tech/weapon packs for module lotto and all the tritium. Still painful.
Opportunistic shopping too, I see tritium and just buy it all the time now.

Charge your pulse drive with pyrite to conserve your tritium.

This is best way as far as I knew, shooting asteroids is just random, and not fun, sometime it's not resource you want or need.

Tell that to the frigates. It's the "26 Hour Balanced Expedition" that snarfs all my tritium.

last i checked 3* systems sold bulk quantities of resources like trit or ferite dust in the 2k-3k range, is that no longer the case?

at any rate i get enough trit in the expedition just from collateral damage when fighting pirates since im using the space shotgun (positron i think?)

For frigate expeditions i use supply frigates (as always) since it means i dont have to craft any fuel, it's a free pass.

As above. Some space stations and ships landing there sell Dihidrogen Jelly and Tritium. I buy that in bulk and have a mostly supply frigate fleet as well. It might cost me 50T of fuel to do one of the long missions once my figates have levelled up, generally it's free.

I'll concede, before they make it to S-Class they do use quite a bit of juice still because I'm often sending them out with Normandy or Leviathan but far less than a normal fleet.

Still far less aggravation than it used to be doing things the obvious way.

why? it is so abundant, you do not need to...

I started paying a lot more attention to the expedition duration bonus for frigates. I even list the percentage in the name now. You can keep most missions under 24 hours with strategic use of the frigates that provide duration benefits.

If you are not a fan of farming frigates with the good stat, you can just manipulate the stat in the Save Game Editor. For E7, I made all of my frigates have a 3% duration improvement. I knew I was not keeping the save, and E7 was the first expedition where I was not being very successful...so I played with the save alot. Enjoyed the hell out of it, but not sure it would equate to a save I really wanted to keep.

I just buy tritium any time I visit a station that has it for sale, and hit up any NPC's landed with their ships literally anywhere and buy all the tritium they may have as well. Mining asteroids is just not fun (to me).

Doing the purchasing route, it always keeps my tritium stores topped off, and I don't go out of my way to do it....just do it as I'm already passing stations and npc pilots while working on other things.

I dislike farming asteroids so much that I 'tried' to adjust it to be more appealing. I modded regular asteroids so that they only give tritium (never gold or silver) and tripled the amount of tritium gained. My thinking was to try to balance it to make it more appealing. I still only shoot asteroids if they are right in front of me as I'm going somewhere else. . .

I just buy it from all the ships that land on space stations and trade centres. I'm never short, even with full freighter missions and lots of pulsing. Each trade ship has about 150-180 tritium to trade and they switch often so its never really hard to get a lot of tritium to last quite a while.
