i haven't started over since i started the topic where i ranted a little... i'm kinda dreading this last part but, since i've done everything else, i guess i'm ready for it... i do have my saves backed up, though! :steamhappy: :steamhappy: :steammocking:

Yep, I made sure I had backups at regular intervals. But it would be nice to get the "break the loop" milestone done asap and be done with the stress of it.

yep... i wish i had known 36+ hours ago, though... i would have enjoyed the expedition a lot more... i'm not even going to say anything about sneaky bastids and gating/hiding things behind obfuscated text so we can't understand it... that's absolutely mean and really bastidardly... even moreso in this particular instance...

I think it would have been great right at the beginning to offer two paths forward. For example in your first conversation with polo, he asks you which of two paths you'd like to follow. The result of choice allows you to keep your expedition progression if you die. The other is as it is currently. Then many players would have had a much more positive expedition experience, and once they were successful in the path where they don't lose progress, they might want to try it again with the harder, lose everything, path.

In a way that's how it is now. Wait to complete "break the loop" in phase 5 or do it asap. One could probably can get it done in the first hour. And then your deaths are like normal mode.

True! I didn't do that, so I don't know how complicated it is, but at least it is an option for those that are dying a lot and getting very frustrated (understandably).

If they had given us the two-path option from the beginning, I suspect many would have not had such a frustrating experience, and might have actually gotten more mileage from this expedition by first completing it without the expedition resets on death and then maybe trying the riskier path of total reset on death on another run.
