Also, search online, NMS is well known for it absurd issues on PC...
/sarcasm PC Mustard Race
I personally play on PC. It's just a matter of input devices. I don't enjoy playing on gamepads much. Just using it for flying in NMS and mouse + keyboard for everything else. The storage managemant can be super annoying on a gamepad. On PC you can use Mods to modify your game to your likings as well, don't know if there is a way to do that on console.
Never had a single crash on two different PCs (i9-12900KF, RTX2080Ti, 32GB PC3600, NVMe atm, CPU/GPU OCed) in 330hrs. Probably because my PCs are always well maintained.
Not trying to make light of your situation, but anecdotal evidence simply does not qualify as a good scientific sample. Yes, I have read many other posts regarding crashing, but these seem to be more often then not to be related to hardware/driver/background software issues. The last time I had NMS crash on me was actually due to a failing PSU that wasn't powering my GPU properly. Replaced the PSU, and all is well.
I do hope that you are able to figure this out. Best wishes!
Especially when non PC versions of the game have their online multiplayer locked behind a perpetual rip off pay wall that will blackmail you every month under threat of removing your ability to use features in games you have paid full price for.. because console manufacturers are greedy.
A black box sitting on your shelf next to your TV and gathering dust - that's the strong point of a console.
Whatever you prefer.
