What do the two different weather types mean?
I found two paradise planets in a new run, the first one perfect in every aspect but without water, I really don´t like lush planets without water.

Then I couldn´t believe my eyes when I landed in the second solar system I visited, a temperate planet with balmy weather, perfect blue sky, blue water ... yada yada .... and no sentinels. Two perfect planets in a row, what gives?

I immediately starting building a small base on that second planet, after while I decided to go scan stuff and through my visor I could see "occasional scalding rain" ... can´t remember the exact wording ... something similar.

So what are the two different weather description types? The one when you get out of the spacecraft and the other through the visor?

PS: No bad weather while I built my base and went around doing stuff .... but I am sure it´s around the corner.

If it's a paradise planet it won't have storms (they are coded this way - no storm, no sentinels; normal mode)
As to those two different namings: Synch error in regards to universe reset in the past. Basically your planet was a different planet years ago and it created a second storm-entry,

Based on my observations, temperate and grassy planets are subsets of paradise planets and may have differing weather or sentinel levels randomly generated. I have been on temperate planets with balmy weather and no storms but had sentinels and I have been on temperate planets where there were occasional scalding rain storms. I've seen multiplayer games where two players were on the same temperate planet, one got storms the other did not. If you haven't seen any storms by this point, I doubt that you will get any at all.

If it has storms that actually affect you (like heat, acid, cold and so on), an easy way to tell is if it has anything "activated" on it and you can also tell (if a storm is occurring) if the planet is covered in grey instead of how it looks in the discover screen.
Also when it says stuff like "echoes of acid", "hints of frost", it usually means it doesn't have stat affecting storms

Paradise is a subset of Lush:

If you go through a day/night cycle without a storm then there are no storms (correct me if I'm wrong nerds)

It seems that the variation of paradise you get is dependent on the galaxy you are in. This is alluded to a bit later in the game.

Not really. The only thing the galaxy affects is the probability of finding specific biomes. Explore a lush galaxy for the best chance of finding lush worlds.

It allows you to choose a galaxy to go to at one point in the game. No spoilers here. And it is very clear that depending on which you choose depends on which types of planets you will encounter most.

We're on the same page. Your use of the word "variation" in your earlier post threw me off
