Crafting and Credits Seem Pointless Now?
I started playing NMS 3 months ago and have enjoyed most of that time. Some of the bugs like loosing materials in a refiner if you teleport away was annoying and time wasted.

I get why people are annoyed with the slots, but yes, these can be upgrade at low cost and from any space station. The tech slots upgrade once you have completed upgrading your main invent.

I am now wondering where this game is heading though. The promotion videos point to this game being an exploration game. Find new materials and so on. Now that leads me to my confusion.

Crafting seems pointless now. Having got to the point of building mining silos for silver, gold and so on now seems completely pointless.

The setting for 'free' crafting allows you to build anything without the need to have the building blocks needed to get the end item. So no need to mine, or even use your mining gun. Just switch this option on and of you go??

In regards to currency to increase your slots. Well, that's not a problem anymore either. You switch to 'free' crafting mode, make a load of high value items such as stasis mods. Then sell to the market. You can max out your bank in 1 hour, less if your a fast clicker!!

Yes you don't need to use this option but seriously, even i was tempted and i hate the idea of this. But the game now seems very exploitable. Currency no longer has any value and mining is a thing of the past. Mine sites now take 10 minutes to setup opposed to having to refine loads of ferrite. However, no point building a mining base because your mined ore is no longer needed.

Maybe i am missing something here. Oh and endless travel across the stars with out having to fuel your ship - this is so so handy. You can now go vast distances to search for new materials and content...

Don't worry about protecting yourself on harsh worlds. Just set your settings to no damage and your fine :(

there was always a free setting, it was called creative mode. its up to you if you use it.

Are you being serious? Those are options, so just don't choose those options...

Never saw that. As i said, i started playing 3 months ago and still learning the game. But in the 'creative mode' could you max out your credits?

Yes i am being serious, i make no apology if it doesn't full in line with your thoughts.

Maybe i should go an play sims in future. Sorry 20 years of online gaming in other games and i have never seen anything so ridiculous.

almost everything OP said comes down to 'how do YOU want to play the game'
don't like an option don't use it
think an option is an exploit...don't use it
think the options makes 'things' too easy...don't use them...OR...
choose harder options...cos YES you can choose to increase difficulties just as you can choose to 'dumb it down'

...so i'm not seeing the problem cos if OP is using these options that ruins their play...i'm asking why use them?
...and then complain about using them Lol

but thnx for the entertainment

This is a single player game with some co op elements. The changes only affect you. The other player could be using mods to make his weapon insta kill and you wouldn't know because mods don't sync aswell. They can use terrain generation mods or fauna overhaul, you could be on the same planet but he would see the planet completely differently.

I thought Multi Player meant more than 1 person? never mind.

Clearly i didn't understand the game when i bought it. Not a problem, plenty more games out there.

Always were. Been credit-capped for years. What game have you been playing?

I have disabled multiplayer half the time when playing - and I still can play. And even with multiplayer enabled - if not going into the Anomaly I won't meet another player, except when the stars align perfectly.
Doesn't sound like a multiplayer game.

Have fun with other games.

Are you missing something? Yes, you are missing that you don't have to turn on the "free" option unless you want to...

*sigh* These (OP) are the people that I just don't get. Eldenring is rife with these type of people. 'The game must only be played my way or it's wrong'. It's called options. Some people have more time and like the challenge. Some people have less time and just want to experience the exploration without grind. They gave options for both types. You use the word 'exploit'. Perhaps that word doesn't mean what you think it means. This isn't a competitive game...the only person you are exploiting..is yourself. Set the game up like you want it and enjoy. Or don't.
