Flora/Minerals Totals missing?

Returning player here. PRetty much did everything in the game during the first lockdown, have a huge AI mine etc.. Testing out my new gpu and nms looks inreddible so thought id get back into the discovery aspect of the game.

When I scan for flora and minerals, the discovery page only shows how many i have found so far but nothing about how many are left to discover etc.. The Fauna however has a total. Is this something bugged or am I missing a detail?

Or does flora and minerals not count towards fully mapping a planet?

They don't count towards anything meaningful. You can get them to show up again if you click on the "Discovery" (or something close to that name) in the Missions tab. Finding the last plant or mineral is an exercise in frustration, and you get nothing for finding all of them.

Finding all of the animals, on the other hand, gives a nice chunk of nanites and counts towards an actual milestone.

These do not Count toward any Mile Stones, but if you have a couple of S Up-Grades for the Scanner, they pay pretty well now.
The Count for Total Numbers are seen on one of the Missions in the Log.

If you use the log to examine the discovery mission, you'll see the total numbers of flora, fauna, and minerals to discover along with how many have been discovered. That's the only place you'll see that afaik.

If you are following the discovery mission, you will also periodically see all three totals on the screen in the mission tips, if you are on the planet's surface.

This is true, but the counts do not appear to be accurate at least not for flora and minerals. You can actually discover more than the count shows in some cases. I think it just proves that it means nothing or they expect that you shouldn't be expected to find 100%.

I have noticed the mission totals sometimes are for the wrong planet; that is, a planet other than the one you are on. Check to see that they match up.
