Can I switch mode to creative and back to survival?
All without losing my progression and will still be able to get achievement after back to survival?

Because as far as I understand, achievement is disabled on creative mode.

Sure, with JSON raw edition. If you know what you do, no problems. But don't ask me how :)
so, not possible without some sort of save file modification?

Save file modification is the same than 'JSON raw file' edition with NMS Save Editor. The editor presents to you the savegame in its original JSON format where you have access to everything in it. Once done, the editor converts again into final format (which is not editable).

Chose 'JSON raw file' once you have launched and loaded your save in the editor, and find the necessary entries to modify. I don't know which entries govern the game mode, so I cannot tell you.
But ask this question to the author of the editor here:

https://nomansskymods.com/mods/no-mans-sky-save-editor/

You may need to register to be able to post there, but Goat Fungus the author or some experts there are usually very responsive.

My question is to why? Other than to cheat the survival experience I just don't get the reason to do so.

You already explained my reason:steamhappy:. Indeed, I want to freely design a base using creative mode and switch back to survival once it is done.

Not that I am aware of. I have changed it in the past editing the JSON, but it also changed the biome. Not sure if that would happen now.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yup, understand this. What I meant to say is (as my conclution): not possible to do what is in my original question above, without touching the save file. Right?

NO, not possible to do by normal means.

Minecraft allowed you to do this. I was wondering if NMS is also possible.
