And the Save Beacon doesn't seem to have nor do anything new that might relate to this, so I'm guessing that was nonsense too.
And I'm not in any position to check for invisible Inventory Items hiding where I can't see them unless I know what the game ID is for this item you believe to be there.
Azure never mentioned it was the save beacon, while captain explained laylaps have its own beacon (flare). Usually it works in a way which you interact with it while Laylaps is active, to deactivate it. You claimed you didnt find it your inventory and that is the weird part of it.
My attempt to save edit in the Sentinel Flare, which nobody bothered to name and use that to send the sentinel away met with failure, as it simply respawns nearby.
Also my backups of my account file seem to have mysteriously vanished for some reason (maybe I Ctrl+X instead of Ctrl+C the last time I reverted to them). I'm pretty confident if I had those backed up, I could have got rid of it. Running out of ideas now...
[Edit]: Seems it influences my other playthroughs too. Even starting a completely new game from scratch instantly spawns Laylaps. SO I backed up my save files, deleted the account files, uninstalled the game and deleted any additional fields that were in the game folder. I'm going to try doing a completely clean install and hope that fixes the issue.... and if it doesn't, I never play NMS again.
dude, you are quite an unlikable ungrateful little person, aren't you? But I did mention it was a Flare, so you are again wrong. Sigh... Still, I hope you manage to find a way to fix that, in case you do, reply to this post so it could help another person in the future. That means being kind (in case you dont know). Have fun.
I'll choose to believe you're referring to MaruWeave, since that is the only context in which your post makes any sense whatsoever... though you really ought to make it more clear from the get-go.
So it sounds like a mod maker, or the user of a poorly designed mod, is griefing other players using the FU gifting. I would report it to HG. This may be the first scenario that will get somebody banned from the game, and get that stupid gifting dynamic changed.
This... is not that. This is FAR weirder.
That would be nice... but I fear it has corrupted my entire account somehow.
As I'm discussing over on Reddit at this very moment... it has somehow fundamentally changed the game such that [The Sentry] is always present across ALL save games, ALL playthroughs... I've even done a complete clean install, deleted ALL save data, ALL account data, ALL game files, reinstalled from scratch, started the game in Offline Mode while ensuring none of the save data has been mysteriously replaced...... and [The Sentry] popped up in a completely new, unmodded, clean playthrough.
That is how weird this is. It has ruined the game itself for me...
The gifting is not even necessary in duping. I would have to agree if it's causing actual grief other than someone is being nice to someone. It's most likely a big culprit in Anomaly issues too with so many jumping in and out through resets. I know that there are other player interference at the Anomaly that should get players banned. But I'm not the Anomaly police.
I'd assume the Laylaps needs the item in inventory, if you don't see it then perhaps there is a way to hide it that may be seen with the editor.
