Could you share to me some 'compact' on ground bases?

I have been on youtube and reddit for hours and hours, but still not properly finding some functional compact bases, specially using the ... non-prefab? (Did i get it right? wood, alloy, stone). Specially stone, which is my interest right now.

I thought maybe the currently active players in this forum could have their own links saved or even screenshots saved to show me some ideas for inspiration?

No, that's part of another players base. There are at least 4 bases clustered around this portal. All Base Computers are within/under 300u of each other. Folks build BC outside 300u, then extend inward to the portal. Then they move the BC near the portal. Confusing sometimes.

Why is it so popular? I want to put a base there now too

That's exactly how I build a base next to a settlement

This is a very compact base. It has every thing you need and you can put your storage containers underneath.....

Everything else you might need you can put on your freighter and move it where ever you want.

Here are some ideas...
This is a good solution for storage containers - build on a ridge, dig them into the side, restore the ground around them, and bulid on top so theyre invisible most of the time and the base has a really 'small' feel to it.
I always build bases double height because it feels much nicer inside and adds very little to the part count.

No reason that I can see beyond being a portal on a planet at the center of Galaxy 11 I guess - it's a gateway system - next stop #12. I've never seen another player show up while I was there. The base builders are the usual suspects - they've built bases at the centers of all the galaxies, doing the Galaxy Quest I guess or claiming territory. Many with planet names that are down right ridiculous and immersion breaking for sure.

the whole game is full of ridiculous names! comedy is an important part of the NMS universe. Ever read the frigate mission descriptions? or the creature behaviour descriptions? its python/hhgttg through and through.
