Reloaded my last save point. "Lets refresh the fauna a little bit. Enter ship. Leave ship. Reload last save point of 3 seconds ago".
After googling a little bit more, maybe the game had not synch with my clock yet, and after doing it it did, and maybe from now on it wont happen again? Or i am writing nonsense?
I turned it on for a few days after I completed the Expedition so other players could use my freighter if they needed the optional mission. During that time, my mold farm results dropped by over 1000 mold for each harvest. Also got some odd results from the atmospheric refiner with like 30 units instead of the expected 250.
Had a couple of frigate missions that took over 30 hours to finish when they had been scheduled at 12 hours or less.
Not sure there is much you can do about the situation. It just is what it is. Going forward, turn off MP unless you really like that vibe more then the odd glitchy behaviors.
MP disabled since forever, never went on (in any moment at all). But I would suspect the same If I had it on, since I have been reading for quite some time what it usually messes up.
In the event its not that, then its probably worth a bug report.
Yes. I did buy more frigates while that expedition was on. So that must be it. I wasnt aware of that. Which don't make sense for suddenly the expedition be longer just because you increased your fleet, but well... it is what it is.. So the game understand that, larger your fleet, longer the expeditions. Hmm, didn't know that.
You tend to get better levellling and better rewards from longer missions and you only get 5 a day anyway, so I'm not sure what advantage there would be to having shorter mission times.
Oh I see. Well that settles it. Thank you everyone.
However, later information helped me to parse it, somewhat. But odds are I still may have misunderstood.
In my experience, the second list of frigate missions have very short duration times, generally less than 5 hours. Those only last for the first day after they appear, then all the frigate missions reset at a specific time once a day. That specific time, I think depends upon your time zone, but not sure.
For me, in EST, that time was around 9 pm this past summer. Whatever the time it is in your time zone, I will usually send frigates on those short missions after the first reset of missions, if I can, when all the missions are very short duration.
I generally don't have a reason to save and reload during that time. No doubt I have saved and logged off during that time, but if I did, it was probably to sleep, so at least about 8 hours before I logged in again, at which time those short, 5 hour missions were either complete or available to choose, or I missed my chance at them.
After that, frigate missions are substantially longer, on average. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The longer the mission and more difficult it is, the rewards are generally better. And if you have an interest in upgrading your freighter (I would not bother unless it was A class or better and whose appearance you like, because it's a huge time sink to upgrade them) my experience is that difficult and long industrial missions have a greater chance of bringing back salvaged frigate modules necessary to learn freighter blueprints.
In the latest Expedition in NMS https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Expedition_8:_Polestar, which I played several times just to figure out conundrums like this as well as the plethora of salvaged frigate modules given as milestone rewards, none of which needed to be spent to complete the Expedition (and so with the help of a trusted friend, could transfer them to my main save), but needed a specific number of frigate missions to obtain a milestone within Expedition 8, I learned it was best to wait until the frigate missions reset to what I think of as a "newbie charity", with very short mission completion times regardless if you're playing an Expedition or a normal game, which as I've said, depends on your time zone.
Instead, when you first get frigates you're still in a tutorial. This is why your missions end up being around an hour or so. You'll get some slightly longer missions, but most of them are shorties. The hidden tipping point for ending the tutorial stage isn't finishing your first frigate mission like people think, it's actually purchasing more frigates. If you watch Beeblebum's video on getting organic frigates, he talks about getting this info direct from HG. Because you also have to be out of the tutorial for your Dream Aerial recipe to trigger. Once you leave the tutorial you don't go back in by selling off the fleet.
Now that you're out of the tutorial, go run derelicts. This is how you shorten everything down post-tutorial. Also, keep your eyes peeled for what I like to call the "Pilot" organic frigate. This guy has -10 expedition duration as its "specialist" bonus. ("Pilot Vehicle" being the head of a convoy).
