Better way to find gas spot than just wondering around?
Yes I have the Survey Device installed and I can find spots, but until I find one it seems I need to wander forever with no clue where to go. There´s something that can tell you more probable places to find a gas spot (oxigen for being more precise)?

while you scan, you hear a sound, when that sound varies, it tells you that in that direction, although what you are looking for is far away

ProTip: when you bring up the survey scanner and there's no hotspot nearby for the selected type, listen to the beeps closely and turn, pause, slowly... at some point, you will hear a higher pitch tone/beep... note the direction and head that way a few hundred units... then check the survey scanner again... keep listening for the higher pitch tones if no hotspot if immediately detected... keep moving in the direction of the higher pitch tones until the hotspot is finally detected...

NOTE: this is generally easier with headphones on but can be done with normal speakers if surrounding noise levels are very low... the tones are pretty quiet until the hotspot is actually detected...

Ya, pero hasta que eso pasa, tengo darme unos pateos que quitan la cabeza. No hay una manera de, por lo menos, saber en qué dirección caminar?

Wow I really missed something playing with sound off.

I was playing with the screen off until yesterday, and is an amazing change XD

Not directly related, but if you haven't mastered the melee+jetpack movement, that allows you to cover a lot of ground pretty quickly. It's as easy as it sounds, do a melee attack ('Q' be default, I think) then immediately hit your jetpack. Once you're in the air, you can change direction to steer around very tall rocks/plants.

Use the compass. The scan is 400u. So drop a save point, scan at it, then scan again every 200-300u in a straight line. I use the compass eg start with S. Stop when you're 7-800u from the start then back to the save point and do this pattern to the North. (This is because the practical limit you can connect up is about 1100u-ish).
Then east and west. If you still can't find it, it's a persistent one, but walking a wide circle round the save point might turn up some of those harder to find ones.
I don't think I've ever found a base where it's not possible to have gas, power and a mineral, you just need to survey thoroughly.
In some places I've found 5 or 6 hotspots at one base.
