Is it possible to find a planet that has gold deposit?
Trying to find a planet that has gold that can be excavated with a mineral extractor so I have a constant source. Is it even possible to find planets that have these or do you have to manually mine it yourself?

Yes, there are plenty of planets out there with Gold Deposits.
For the sake of not messing with your gaming experience with the game, I wont give you any spoilers about other type of resources, but keep your eyes open out there while you are looking for gold, there are more options in the galaxy. Have fun.

Gold is available in asteroids as well.
And you can collect gold and other resources from attacking freighter cargo pods sometimes.

Yes there are planets with all three of copper, silver, and gold, and they're not super rare. No platinum to mine, though!

Would you need platinum deposit if you have both gold AND silver?

Some of the exotic biomes have gold as a listed resource in the planet scan:

Usually has the benefit of no weather or sentinels.

Platinum deposits are rare but can be found as well.
Its used for ship repair and quest related stuff.
Since a few patches ago its more rare in space
since gold is found on the same asteroids
where they used to be platinum only.

Are you saying Platinum can be found on a planet's list of minable resources (however rare)?
Nice Necro.

True but then again extracting it from a planet is more quicker and substantial too especially when trying to make solar panels to power bases

My preferred way at the beginning is keeping an eye out for Metal Fingers. Lots of gold and uranium there, note the location with a safe beacon or a base computer and come back another day, for these replenish.
Also look underground, for there are some unique stalagmites and stalactites each with either gold, silver or platinum.
