I fear i scrapped all my crafting bases entirely. dont need the money anymore and even on survival.. the indium farm + daily missions generate enough money passively.
but cant you charge the harvesters and harvest while they work? if you stay close, the stuff shouldnt despawn?
But I did a quick run and found a couple oxygen hotspots near my base
And just over 1200 away I found a Sulfurine B-class hotspot.
So perhaps try running further out from base???
Or find out what hot spots are on other planets, or other planets in other solar systems?
Perhaps use a mini base with teleporter & LZ, which obviously isn't ideal I know.

Actually, I really don't need the money anymore either, as I am sitting just over 2 billion units and have all the ships I want and an S Class Freighter.
In the process of acquiring units over the past 2000+ hours I have into this particular save game, I have a 48 slot Hauler nearly FULL of liquid explosives, and several stacks of Portable Reactors already.
Greedy as I am, I was hoping to convert the remaining Liquid explosives into Portable Reactors and sell them all in one go at whatever outpost, trade station gives me the best price.
Guess I'll just continue to search out the correct Hot Spots and build me some Gas Extractors.
Thanks again for the replies,
after finding Only Oxygen Hot spots, I wasn't sure if Hot Spots for the other gases were a thing, and apparently they are!
Thanks again :)
- Sulphurine is found on desert and hot planets
- Radon is found on radioactive and frozen planets
- Nitrogen is found on toxic and terran planets
Also, if you need to refer to it quickly, this information is available in-game by looking at the "Raw Materials" section of the Catalogue tab.I had already set up some "mini" bases on a desert planet and a frozen planet with my atmospheric harvesters, plus I had my main Farm base on a great terran planet with no storms.
Was using those 3 planets in the same system to collect the 3 gases with the atmo harvesters, then they started losing their gases after beyond.
I have now gone searching out for more hot spots on the same 3 planets, and was able to find my Nitrogen, Sulphurine, and Radon Hot Spots.
Luckily, I found a Nitrogen hot spot not too far from my main farm base and was able to set down 3 Gas Extractors not too far away from the same bank of electromagnetic generators that powers my base. Did have to build one more generator to increase power output and connect it up, but I now have 3 Gas Extractors collecting my Nitrogen.
On the other 2 planets, since these were just a bare minimum base with only a base computer, teleporter, and a set of batteries and solar panels at an outpost, I was able to easily pick up and move both bases to nearby Trading Posts and found Energy and the right gas hot spots within close proximity to each base. Ditched the solar panels and batteries.
Now, after testing, I find that these new Gas Extractors do NOT lose their collected gases when I leave the area.
Was even able to teleport to one of my other bases in another galaxy and came back a while later to find ALL collected gases were still there.
Now, what to do with my 9 left over atmospheric harvesters. I tried deleting them to get the materials back, but that just acts the same as picking them up, and I have 9 obsolete harvesters.
Guess I can try selling them at a galactic trade terminal.
