Is there a way to see the galaxy map while on a space station? My problem is

Is there a way to see the galaxy map while on a space station? My problem is I can't remember which previous space station was closest to the atlas station.

na..you have to be on your ship in space to access it, or if you have a freighter you can see the galaxy map in there.

Ok thanks. Sometimes it's hard to remember the names of the system closest to where I want to go at the portals.

What is pen and paper? I heard about that once, but it sounds too archaic.

It used to really suck when you were trying to do home work and your ran out of slab or your chisel broke.

The UI for this game is inane. Endless weird and tedious exceptions. Yes, it would help to have access to the map at all times, so you can plan. Kind of baffling that the future would have worse interfaces then the present, where we can access information from anywhere.

Honestly, wouldn't be mad at a quality of life update that allows you to see the map without the ship.

Actually you can also press F in the galaxy map on a system to mark it as waypoint. Same effect as from the discovery page.
They get overwritten when you chose new ones, but at some point, yes, they go away (when you warp in the waypoint system I think)

Ok, it's the future. You can beam objects to your storage/ship/freighter, but information like a map....nawh.

I 2nd the request for G-Map access from anywhere there is a portal or a teleporter. Even with crude memory aid devices, I still want to see the map. It reminds me of tasks on the to-do list.

The technology required for you to open the map anywhere does not yet exist in NMS.
