Are there still large S-class explorers?
I'm twidling my thumps, in a trading outpost in a booming Korvax system, waiting for a large S-class explorer ship to land for my taking. NMS wiki says there is one but is that up to date as of the NEXT update?

There are also a set amount of ships for that system, with more of the preferred class in the pool based on dominant race/faction.

If you see no explorer ships with the tell tale large carrying capacity model, seen here...

You will unfortunately have to go to another system.

I use coords to look what i might like they many people sharing the locations of S class ships they found. Large max slot explorers and everything else you could wish for

Yesterday i found a Korvax-System with 2 large explorer-types (2 of 7). These two were even S-classes :) I have immediatly taken the better one.

There are large explorers, but yes, my feeling is that they are rare or at least uncommon.
They must have at least one tube-wing to count as large. There are only 2 tube-wing-types but maaany more tiny wing-types. This is the reason why they are so uncommon or rare.

I just got done chilling in a hot rainly lush planet for a S-Class Explorer (extreme weather planet with infrequent rains as the only hazard) I saw a nice looking style and decided to go for it. I felt as though I'd just spend a couple hours at the very most, and I'll have that one done and dusted. It was clear after awhile there was only one variety with the high capacity wings, so I knew it would be a long wait.
...
During that time, I saw the system's one Exotic ship land 3-4 times at the Trading Post, with the last landing being max slots. It looked better than the big red fin thing I got on my starting system, and swapped it out and called it a night.:steambored:
(can upload pics later if people want, but it is late right now)

This is turning out to be harder than I first thought, but I'm going to try to get that one Explorer ship.

I know it is hard to find that specific one explorer ship.
I came to the knowledge, that it is extremely hard and timewasting to find the on ship i want. And even if i ever find it, the chance is extremely low, that this system will offer it as s-class.

My last hope is the ship customization feature. then i will buy any large s-class explorer and cutomize it to the style i want.
It is really a pain in teh a,, to find the one specific ship in a random world.

Btw.: the ship what i am searching for has the name "Ultimate Master TE9". It is white with blue accents and red decals. It have the thin tube wings with solar panels on both sides.
Not the big tubes with a round solarpanel at the front.
What Zitt Tooya Sep 9, 2018 @ 12:52pm
ship customization feature? Is that a future update for NMS?

After alt+tabbing back into NMS an XK5 Esend A-class 37/12 landed. I'm currently debating on waiting for an S class (basically the same but one more inventory slot and a bit better hyperdrive)

I won't be able to afford a second one till down the road, what should I do?
Nexis Sep 9, 2018 @ 3:30pm
No, it is not officially announced that ship customization will come. But i hope it comes someday.

I would wait for S-class. S-class will have automatically more hyperdrive-bonus than A-class.

Yes you could take the A-class, but i am sure, then will come murphy's law and you find a s-class :) Happened to me.
At every ship trade your actual ship has only 70% trading value from the real value. So you would waste money if you now buy the A and after that the S.
So my suggestion: wait for it and buy directly a S-class.

An S class has a 10% better hyperdrive bonus, whoop. Really depends on how anal you are, and if it's the kind of thing that will bother you later.

I've got a S-Class Explorer with 58% hyperdrive-bonus. My old A-Class Explorer had only 40% hyperdrive-bonus.
So 18% is a huge difference :)
My Range is 1190 lightyears.

But the most important thing is the higher shield-bonus for battles and pirate-attacks.

At least i do not fly explorer primary because the higher warp-range, but because the cooler style :) Higher warp-range is only tertiary. Secondary it has with 37 Slots a high amount of slots.
So better style, very good shield, high amount of slots, very maneuverable and very high warprange. Explorerz rulez ;)

And I have an A class with a ~50% bonus, the bonuses do vary. I really only meant it's up to each person as to how much time they want to put into playing the RND ship waiting game. Everyone will have a different tolerance, or level of desire for the top ship.

The difference between a max stat A class and a minimal stat S class Explorer is only 5 % but explorers can roll as high as 65%

https://nomanssky.gamepedia.com/Starship#Explorer_-_High_Hyperdrive_Bonus

Exotics have identical hyperdrive stats:

i find a S explorer 17-5 H=65% for only 1.800.000 and les than 30 minute it's the best for a first "second ship".
i just go on a korax system with hight economie and stand by in a trading post "indicated" when i ask direction on the station .
