S class Explorer
So does anybody know the best place to find a S class Explorer ?
I have to be in a Korvax System with a good economy ( Booming, Opulent, .... ) and search on a traiding post

Other tricks ?

You've got it , thats really the best way , opulent system and farm a trading post or the space station until ya hook a keeper

Yup, trading posts are ideal, since you get more ships cycling through than at a station. Plus you can scan ships as they circle around the Trading Post! I like to plant my ship on the ground to get it out of the way and keep all spots open.

You can pass the time there by giving away faction/race related items, or buying up plant based materials to craft profitable items that you can sell right there. The volume of goods is much lower than in a station, but they tend to be cheaper. It seems you can only get plants from NPC ships landing on planet-side.

If you want to make money while waiting, and don't mind the longer wait, you can craft up alloys in the station by the NPC ships there, and at a higher volume. But if you find another type of ship, you'll be out of luck trying to quickly trade it in with something else, since you can't summon ships in the station.

Having something to do, especially something that can net you benefits, helps when waiting for that elite ship to come by.

Same. Just chilling in a trading post in a booming korvax system. Waiting for the RNG gods to smile upon me. In the mean time you should mine everything nearby, process it to advance materials, and make sell them at the terminal. You can use the mining beam on the landing/launch pad. The wait is horrible.

There are only certain models that give you max slots, but there's a 2% chance any ship can be an S. The only explorer I know has max slots has the two large cylindrical thrusters on either side. It's the one I have, there are probably others, but I don't know what they look like. Once you find that it's just a waiting game until it spawns as a 38S+8.

If you get bored of waiting you can restart your last save over and over , i tried it ,i saw the suggestion on a few vids and posts it works really well but i got to admit it feels a little dirty when ya do find one you want.

I don't know if it is worth the effort. It might be faster, given you can see ships come in and can tell if they have high storage before they land, but how much time do you save doing it?

I've noticed I get 5 ships cycling on the pads if I park outside, off the trade platform, and that usually gets things flowing decently. I'd be going nuts spamming that reload save just for a ship, when if I can wait just a bit longer, they all refresh anyway. I can do other things while waiting, so I'm not going to semi-'save scum' that. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1508457629

I found mine in an advanced mineral Vykeen system in the space station. I found if you get out and wait and don't move for about a minute the chances get higher. It's a lower grade S so I'll be trading it again.

Is the S really an S38+8? I went with an A38+12. Those extra slots are really nice to have if you go through a black hole. Nothing in the technology slots gets damaged, just the stuff in the regular inventory.

Do all S class ships have the same hyperdrive range?

Large A class ships can have max slots also at times like that if you find the right one but not always as you will get with an S class.

In the case of explorer though the S class will have a better hyperdrive bonus and really that's all explorers are for unless you like their design and honestly large explorers for me are probably the ones I dislike the most as a I prefer the looks of the small / medium ones a lot more.

It can vary a bit but they will have the biggest bonus.

I just got one after 15mins waiting but it is ugly

You can find S-class ships in almost any system, they are just more common in wealthy systems.

The main advantage is that the flow of ship reduce with time. So even with the time lost when reloading, you cycle more quickly. It may be a bit dirty but 2% chance on 1 or 2 models (for a total of 20 ships) is 2% of 5-10% or 0.1%-0.2%.
