How do you move around in the Warp Map?

Every time I use the Warp Map, I can't seem to get the pointer to click on a different system or show me any useful info. Does anyone have some useful info on how to make the Warp map work? I feel like I can only travel in one direction & can't even go back to previous systems.

The workaround I have is to have a base with stargate in the previous system & can just call the freighter back to it if I need everything there.

right click first to be able to move, then move around with the mouse

I play with Xbone elite controller.

For me it's Press B to deselect to you can freeform select then hit Left\Right on DPad until you get to free explore

Here are the key shortcuts taken from AR, they still work but won't include the changes made in NEXT:

(PC version)

LM button.........select system and close-in orbital view with infos
RM button.........free explore mode
Q/E...............switch waypoint modes

In the Discovery Menu....Select system as waypoint with LM button

Follow the pathes (lines) with your mouse to follow waypoints

To Warp:
First go in free explore mode with RM button, then select desired star, keep pressing LM button to warp.

Commands in free explore mode:
WSAD...move around
SHIFT-WASD...move around fast
SPACE..move upwards
CTRL...move downwards
BKSP...Return to current system

Cursor keys...toggle filters

B...Show your homebase system (?)

X...Search for systems visited by fellow players

M...Quit map
