How do I change the name of my base?

I've created a ton of outpost-like bases on the few star systems I've been in so I can travel to any of the previous planets fairly easily.

However, the names of the bases are bizarre and don't match up to the planets. I'd rather just name the base, for example, Harry's Planet Outpost, & then I know where to go.

Instead, I get these really weird, random names. Currently, I'm mapping them with a text editor on the side.

i'm not sure how it works....i have bases named different things depending on which portal i use. not sure if it take time to update, or if the portal grabs the name when you build it (or go thru it?). Couldn't figure out exactly what causes that, but it seems totally silly to me.

Did you upload it too (wait for green connectivity circle)?

Drop a save spot and do a manual save after you Rename Base. Then upload it...

That always seems to fix it for me...

I dunno I always change mine and upload...some stay changed some don't

Except if you upload, it doesn't make much sense to change base name currently because in the teleporter this new name will not appear (unless they just fixed that).
Also all the names in teleporters are sort of messed-up, a mix of fantasy names and real system names...It's sometimes hard to identify a system.

Renaming a base will update the name of the base on the Base Computer once you look away and then look back at the object. However, the name will not update in your teleport list until you have teleported to the base once after the rename. (At least, this has been my experience with base renaming so far in NEXT...)

They told you the right way to do it. I had to do it a few times before it stuck. If you are not connected to the servers, it doesn't stick.

I haven't checked on this thread in awhile, but that's because I did get it working. Finally.
