Uranium deposits
Hey everyone,

I wondering, are there any uranium deposits right now in the game? I'he spent nearly 2 hours flying and driving around radiated planet wich should have uranium by info, but didn't find any.

I know about metal fingers and uranium as secondary element when mining pure ferrit from some minerals, but I'm thinking about installing automated mining on deposit.

Are they existing?

Uranium can be refined. I have a guide for this stuff, but here are the basics:

Gr(Gamma Weed) + NaCl(Salt) --> U(Uranium)
Rn(Radon) + Fe/+/++(Ferrite Dust/Pure/Magnetised) --> U
P + Fe/+ --> U

Gamma Weed is also found on radioactive planets. Salt can be refined, but also found on radioactive and underwater. As to how you refine salt, I'll leave it to the guide so people can check it out. :)

oh yes, plenty of them....

also, from the wiki: "Typically found on planets with a radioactive environment."

I've never seen any deposits.
I usually buy what I need at stations.

Neither do I.

Same bug with Ammonia.

you need to explore more...:steamhappy:

Go to an hot planet and collect phosphorus, this will appear often in deposits. Use the middle / big refinery and add ferrite dust (I think you will find this in masses). Ready is your uranium.

Metal fingers, if and when you find them. They are usually clumped together with gold. Takes a while to mine them but it is worth it. You could get as much as 2000=4 slots. Mining the gold could get you around 500,000 units when sold. Keep the uranium. They appear on the scanner as yellow icons, similar to floating crystals and buried alien artifacts.

a lot of plants on radioactive planmets have uranium as a second resourc ein them. So if you are mining them for carbon/oxygen/whatever you often end up with a decent chunk of uranium as wel.

yes it is, on certain type of planet

I've seen a lot of rocks on a couple planets that have a ton of uranium, but not in an on surface deposit yet. I currently can't seem to find any Platinum and I need a lot of it.

Phos is the best way, have an outpost base next to it, drop in and out.

But also, as others have said, it should be somewhere on correct planet. But these things are sometimes very difficult to find (Activated Indium...it's there if you look long enough), and uranium is apparently the hardest to find in a resource pile.

The player's helmet displays where the resource piles are (as does scanner of course), so this also works when flying.

Don't know if it's a bug or an "intented feature" but uranium and ammonia deposits do not exist. You can find them as secondary element in minerals and plants and uranium can also be found in metal fingers but they don't spawn as the usual deposit you can mine with the terrain manipulator or with autonomous mining units

Whenever this question is asked you'll always find people telling that they do exist, that "you just have to explore more". They're lying. If they were right you'd find screenshots with location and coordinates, just like you do for every other rare thing in this game

Language issue there. I quote myself: "and uranium is apparently the hardest to find in a resource pile". I made the misunderstood word in bold, because when I say apparently I don't mean "bob said", I do mean "it is apparent to my visual cortex system", now that should imply that I'm still looking. But yea call me a lyer with your thinly hidden insult, whatever.

Also, when the word "deposit" is used, some seem hung up on it.
Uranium in Metal Fingers.
Tons of it.
But that is not good enough!
People want "deposits"! :steamhappy::steammocking:

Do metal fingers grow back? People do not want consumables, they are evil!
