Indium Drive = forgotten blueprint
I finished the Expedition Polestar and had the "blue" then changed to another ship and get this message. Any suggestions?

Is this your freighter or starship?

This sort of thing with those different drives has gotten me purplexed in that on the Anomaly, you can't get those other drives, for your ships, because it says, "Blue print memory forgotten" or something like that. That's odd getting a message like that, yet being able to get Indium and the other to make the Indium drive. Normally, you have to have chromatic metal to do the Cadmium drive first, to get to red star systems. Then go to red star systems and get Cadmium to make a Emeril drive and so on.
On Freighters though, this doesn't apply like that.

I'm wondering and just curious if anyone knows if these blueprints for getting into other star systems for your ships get released after doing the Polestar expedition? or when the timing for that expedition is completly over with.??

Just out of curiosity:
Did you find a ship with the indium drive already installed? And this ship you tossed away for another one that didn't came with the indium drive already installed?
Because this can happen.
And it's WAD.
You have to unlock the blueprint for indium drives by either finding it at crash sites or via anomaly upgrade station. If you don't do that you can't build one, but you can find ships with an indium drive already installed.

I built up the drives as usual during the Polestar Expedition. Then I disassembled everything when I changed Starships. I went from an "S" to an "S" and now can only install the drive for red stars. I still have all the yummy ingredients.

It is what it is... bizarre

The drives are locked out during the Expedition because they want you to warp in the freighter.

Did you do the optional mission and convert the save to a Normal mode save, or is it still an expedition save?

(note: I have not done so, but I believe that that is the requirement)

Well... apparently I must have acquired an "S" that had the Indium Drive in it.

I am still stuck in the Polestar Expedition for the next 2 weeks :steamsad:

If you are still in the expedition, you can unlock the cadmium, emeril, and indium drives from the little ball module thing at crashed ship sites. It's random, but you will always get a blueprint for your ship or multitool by selecting the right choice so long as you haven't unlocked them all. Only exceptions are the newer tech that came with the sentinel update.

Thanks = Maybe that is what happened in my Polestar Expedition... I slept since then :steambored:

Update: I just completed the last "visit someone else's base (freighter) and this completed the Polestar Expedition. I checked in the Anomaly for the Indium Drive and it was available to purchase... after I bought the preceding 'Green' drive.

Thanks to all for the input.
