i just dont remember which1 you need. maybe they are blue or the purple.
if you like to recycle something you will see the sources you get from into the description, before you recycel them... just look for cadmium.
ofc you need some nanites to buy the upgrades before.
just a sugestion ;)
What you need to do is to dismantle a ship's technology mod, such as photon cannon, or pulse drive. then you get some Cadmium.
Then you put it in a refiner, along with chrome metal, and it doubles, repeat the last step until you have enough.
If you don't have any tech in the ship, or you don't want to dismantle any of what you have, you buy a cheap C-mod from the nearest space station, install and then dismantle it at once.
edit.
Seems a clarification is needed here, some don't seem to understand.
The Cadmium you can get from ships is only from some of the technology modules you can dismantle, you never get Cadmium from scrapping the ship itself.

I tried this... I had money, so I bought a couple ships... scrapped them. Didn't get any Cadmium for either of them. Got most of the money I'd spent back, but it seems a stupid, tedious way of getting Cadmium.
So, buy one from the starship upgrade dealer at the station, install it, dismantle that - NOT the entire ship. Tada, cadmium.
Which- you don't need anyway.
