Warping takes a long time?

Hey people new space adventurer here
I have been warping for 28 minutes and I havent found a new planet. I can still see the planet I left if I turn my ship around.
I take it warping is activated by using space button, right?
Can I go any faster? The game was last saved 28 minutes ago

i think your not warping. you are using a pulse drive.

to warp to another system hit X, scroll to galaxy map icon (looks like a whirpool), hit F.

use WASD keys and your mouse to "move around". there is a list of comands described there. to warp, choose the star and hold LMB to begin warp. you will see progress circle filling so hold until it's full.

Or in simple way - click 'M' on keyboard, RMB to free-camera and chose your destination.

Just to let you know, you can't travel to other systems by flying to them if you try long enough you will only glitch the game.
The real warping is just a loading screen between different star systems.

The warping and teleport sequences are much too long now. Pre-NEXT it depended on how far your destination was. The current sequence takes as long as if you warp/teleport 2000+ LJ away. With 50 LJ it should only last 10 seconds or so which it doesn't, instead it takes more than 1 minute :(

Yeah that's what I thought :D I was doing my laundry and cleaning my house while I was flying until I wrote this post

Even after a long while playing the game it still amazes me too. I find it hard to believe procedural maths can look so cool. There is some great design and music in this game.
Mind boggling really.

Gradually the story is becoming more involving and with multiplayer now, it can be a lot of fun. I love running about the fleet frigates, space looks 'wow' from those walk ways.

PS You can mark a system on the Galaxy Map and any previous discovery from your option screen. Use the F button to do so. Then you can toggle the route to that system from the galaxy map and hop towards your chosen system.

Yes. You can aquire bunch of different types of Frigates when You get Freighter. You can't fly with them, but You can send those ships on missions. Sometimes very profitable.

can I also get them in the free play mode? Are they bought in a trade station?

Free play mode? - I don't get it. If U means U play like U wish, then yes. U can buy them. But Freighter is required. You will get one Freighter for free with the progress of main story line. Then U must build inside Control room. At last U can buy Frigates. Every NPC fleet of Freighters (they spawn when U slowly fly in space) contains two or three Frigates to buy.
