Cannot make final jump to galactic core.

I am at the fifth meeting point, my ship and freigther both have warp drives fully fueled but when i go to the galaxy map I cannot select galactic core to make final jump. All steps except two final ones from fifth section done.
Anyone with similar issue? Am I doing something wrong?
I don't want or have time to do that expedition again.

There have been about twenty post on this ion the last week.

Follow the directions on the mission. Make sure the jump to new galaxy is selected.
Make sure hyper drive is full.
Open the galaxy map.
Select path center.
move mouse in direction of path.
small circle appears hold LMB.
You may need to play with it a little to get the circle to appear...

Also have current system selected (NOT Free to Explore)

This is probably the issue....it's what my issue is every time I've had to jump to the galactic core in the game.
I'm just used to going into Freelook/explore mode on the galaxy map when jumping so it never fails that I forget I have to do it the weird way that was designed for controlers for that specific jump.

Ok, finaly got it to work. It is so unintuitive hove to do it.
All I had to do was, when on the galaxy map with path to the core selected, make sure that there is a "line" visible from final system to the core, player view is "locked on" on the final system, and then press MMB. And then that yellow round thingi shows on that final system, and the I was able to press LMB to lock on to the galaxy core and make that jump.

It realy is quite confusing hove to do it.

@przemocny, You can actually jump that way for normal jumps too. It's the implementation of jumping designed to make jumping easy for controllers.
What's confusing is that if it's not how you normally jump, you aren't used to doing it that way and in the case of the galactic core, it's the only way you can do the jump.

I'm bummed encountering the second issue with this expedition, but fortunately, the 1st fragment of pirate map dropped in, so if NMS follks fixed that, great! But now, I can't make the galactic core jump!!

I have the mission selected, the site shows me the red crescent symbol on the map, as to marking the location, hyperdrive engine 100% every time I am trying this, I set the galaxy map to galactic core as directed and in the galaxy map, the site is marked and the orange beam radiates into what appears to be infinity (the core, I assume). I have then played with every button and grips on the hand controllers and cannot get the destination targeted, not faint orange circle or anything else, for that matter, shows up - it looks already marked like places I usually have to select and the usual warping process of holding LA does nothing - anyone have any other solution - I would love to finish this expedition!

Find a youtube video. Don't try to do this totally by yourself, it'll cost you an hour and might only work once. Jumping to center of the galaxy on PC (mouse/keyboard) is the single most annoying UI design of this game.

For me, I think of having an invisible mouse cursor that needs to hover over the line gold line to make it selectable. And that is probably wrong too.

Once you accomplish this feat of galaxy transit, you belong to the proud club of NMS pilots that achieved the most non intuitive task ever designed on purpose.

I have only played NMS on Valve Index in VR and have not even tried to play this on the PC, but if that's the only way I might get this done, I'll learn the PC/mouse functions and give it a try - thanks for your response, Zoran

i am playing this game in VR and i am stuck exactly at this point. My warp drive is full, i can see the red line towards the empty space, i have selected Galactic Core like it was suggested in the instructions, i can point to the red line to it becomes white, but i am not able to get any circle displayed to select the galactic core.

They say this doesn't work in VR. Pancake mode only.

As frustrating as it was, I think Krash is correct. I tried for days to do all the various suggestions made to do this in VR and luck certainly played a role in those that managed. So I did a quick read on basic controls for playing on a PC and muddled though the process on the PC to get this done, was successful and about to get in and out of the ship to get a save and logged back in in VR and all is well.

Sure seems that NMS would fix that, as they apparently took care of the pirate map bug!
