writing down your glyphs
I'm sure this has already been decided by everyone. However I missed it and am new to the game. Do I record my first glyph as a 1 or an A then the second would be 2 or b. Which works best and how do you communicate your glyps to another player? Thanks for any input.

i don't think thats the right thing
I don't think anyone's figured out what those numbers mean, if they mean anything at all.

I think it's a reference to the real-life "numbers stations".

There's a different one that outputs galactic coordinates.

I meant the numbers themselves.

They correspond to hexadecimal numbers, 0 through F (equivalent to decimal 0 through 15). I made and printed a chart so I can easily convert the symbols shown in the screenshot mode to a 16 digit hex value in my notebook. When I want to use a portal, I just use the chart to convert the hex value into the symbols as I enter them.

I see no patterns in multiples or divisors. And nothing makes sense translated into letters, either.

Probably Sean Murray's phone number.

Yeah, its something I started doing a month or so ago... if I didnt screenshot videos...

Of course, different people have different names for the glyphs generally, so its best to use pictures as far as letting others know.

Uh, clearly they are sunset, bird, dude, diplo, thing, balloon, boat, bug, other bug, swirly, shape dot, whale, teepee, peepee, yay, and triangle.

If you know how to install fonts, there are at least 2 freely available. The r/NMS Coordinate exchange has download links to them. Or, a Google search will probably produce a few links.

NMS Glyphs Mono
NMS Glyphs Tight

We were supposed to remember these?
Happy Monkey 27 ABR 2022 a las 17:42
Only if there's something there that you want to let other people know about.

Thank you all for your instructive comments. I suppose I will just write them down on notepad from 1 to 0 and A to F. It's the simplest solution I can think of.

There are also "galactic addresses" that you can get from a signal booster and at least one of the random space encounters, of the form xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx, that can be translated here:
https://nmsportals.github.io/

so is that what that random clock event random number generator thing talking about?
Happy Monkey 28 ABR 2022 a las 14:02
The signal booster is a piece of portable tech you can build.

The space encounter I was referring to is this one:

i just take a screen shot, then at end of night or before i play again, i pull out my phone and take a pic of where ever i want to go, and if you find a particular location on a planet, park ship near it and use alt to look at your X, Y coordinates. that always helps, i just text those to my wife randomly....easy to find again.
