If you are already at max positive relations, then do some pirate mission that harms the relations, there is no point to use the forged passport ?
if your Vykeen faction lv is like say 3 or 6 or whatever beside maximum of course it will raise it by at least one point each time you use one, i've never had it give more than 1 point but that doesn't necessarily mean much bc I've only used em a few times, but in principle your could get enough to just max out your reputation with all faction i reckon.
but yeah it give you the freedom to be bad without long lasting repercussions.
2. X upgrades are very random - they all have higher cap than S upgrades while also having lower bounds of C upgrades. For example S shield upgrade is a fixed 30%, X shield upgrade is 5%~35%. So you can just open them like lootboxes, and sell the one that doesn't match your loadout for some nanites.
3. Only the trader raiding bounties drop your standing, because you must attack 4 friendly ships which is -4. Delivery bounties has no standing impact, and freighter raids actually can be done by hitting only cargo pods but not escort ships, giving no standing penalties either. Pirate hunts just straight give you +1 every ship destroyed.
4. Teleporting from outlaw station to normal station, or the reverse, is restricted, but you can teleport from or to your own teleporter with no restrictions. This includes teleporters in your base, inside settlement overseer office, on your freighter and on anomaly. I actually made a secret base somewhere in the outlaw system and named it "smuggler's cavern", every time I need to visit the system I just teleport to that base and change appearance (for immersion!)
5. I generally consider outlaw update to be new-player oriented, there are easier and better way to earn money early on, and the passport is apparently designed for newbies with minimal standing. For returning players, yes it seems bland.
Anyone seen that ball hauler with some kind of transparent blue force shield around the pods, I was tempted to pick it up but I'm not into haulers. I've seen those twice in pirate systems
I named a base something like that too in a large cave system. I shall now have to go see if it has become a pirate system. I never thought to check on my numerous old bases. It would be great if it did! My favourite base unfortunately has become infested with sentinels, so an extra step now is needed to switch them off. But at least I have the finished base built! Thanks for explaining the reputation points thing.
To the other poster: Outlaws I am certain is the start of more updates to expand the new pirate mechanics. I'm really enjoying the new update and the improved combat and ship designs. It's at least a step to making our choices in the universe a little more interesting than before.

i thought i used to be able to teleport to my freighters, since this update i can only teleport from my freighter, but not to it.
