Easiest ship storage upgrade modules??
Trying to upgrade my ship storages but can't see any good ways that aren't spending a fortune at the ship thing in a space station.

Heard derelict freighters give some, tried it but got nothing.

Buy cheap A and B ships at a space station (under 2 mil) and scrap them.

You get 3/4 of the units back immediately, 1-5 upgrade modules of the ship's class you can sell for nanites (500-1500 per ship easy) and a mix of trade goods (which might actually net you a profit overall), resources and a chance for a storage augmentation module.

How many depends on RNG of course but probably about 10-20 per hour unless you're really unlucky.

You also get tons of chromatic metal, sodium and wires from scrapping their shield upgrades (they usually have at least one).

I found a trade post that spawns S-class ships quite regularly. With these I not only gain a lot of s-class mods but also a good amount of storage augmentation. Another similar trade post in an outlaw system is strange in such that it spawns a lot of C-class ships but almost as many S-class ships as A-class. And it seems the ships are cheaper on average. 650k for an S-class explorer. Can't remember that happening before.

I've seen similar at high economy pirate systems, almost always just C and S class ships. I would say probably 5-7% are S class and almost all the rest are C. It almost feels like A and B are more rare than S.

Scrapping ships bought at the station is a good way. I prefer finding crashed ships because you find other stuff while doing it as well. I have not found any in other places yet.
