if we can do it in the anomaly, we can do it in a station
Your containers are all visible from your suit inventory, you do not have to ever interact with a storage container directly.
I was about to say 'I'm 3 feet in front of my storage container & I can't see it' but then I got smart and summoned my Freighter.
It turns out; the Freighter Storage is the same exact as the storage cubes. So you need a Matter Beam and your Freighter HAS to be in Atmo (Or at least, the same system).
But you cannot, without a freighter, see your Cubes unless you interact with them one by one.
Wrong.... When at base simply open you suit inventory. All the contents of all the containers can be cycled through. It's been that way since the containers were added to game. I seldom use a planet base but the ones I've had always worked as I describe.
The freighter storage is easier since you have two way to see it on the freighter without going to each container.
But yes the teleport upgrade on the freighter is a game changer as well.
Don't tell me I'm wrong 3 minutes after I already did it myself.
Yes you are wrong.
The freighter allows access anywhere if it is in system. So walk off away from your base and try it again from the suit inventory.
nnow they've added the ability to swap ship at the freighter becauSe from 6 they've expanded to 9 the ship one can owns, and on the freighter only 6 are available at any time, to allow other NpC to land.
So what they could do is:
first rework the "call your ship" terminals to decide which ship to call, not only the main one
second to add one of those terminals to any platform at the station
third allow to occupy max half of the platforms
or just allow top swap ship at the station too :)
Here's my storage:

Here's my inventory (Well, cargo slot, but you can see the tabs) without my freighter in the same system:

Here's my freighter, outside my system still:

Here's the Freighter INSIDE my system. Note the 'Storage Container' option is now visible:

There is no accessing my storage without my freighter, as it is done through the freighter.
Press "X" on an empty slot and you'll see what I'm talking about. Have 6700 hrs in game and know a thing or two.
So while everything else is in tabs at the top of the screen; they nest storage in a sub-menu?
While, yes, that means it IS accessible:
1. Why did you not say that from the get go? Nothing you said so much as alludes to a nested menu.
2. That is such horrible design. Everything else has its own tab, and storage is 'press x'.
You aren't alone. I just always use the X key and never really bother with other ways.
Like you witnessed though the teleport for the freighter is nice....
