Best way to farm nanites?
Hi guys,
Started new playthrough and really enjoying it.
I understand how to farm money and I can get millions per hour but I do not understand how to get more Nanites.
So my route is to just farm tech points which also usually have the broken machines where I extract nanites, but is there is a better way?
Tried to figure it out how to start missions but the only way I know is the space station and they only provide money credits as a reward which I get more by just farming tech points...
Tried also to search for youtube guides but they only show gliches which I am not interested in..
Thanks!

Curious deposits->runaway mold->nanites
1 refiner with 9999 runaway mold = 1999 nanites in 20 mins.

easiest would be runaway mould farm. Most dignified would be scanning planetary critters. The income you used to get from fighting non-stop summoned sentinels, has been nerfed, so I have heard.

How do I find Curious deposites? Are these with the yellow star on it?
Yeah I fought sentinels for about 20 min and did not get much nanites.

On worlds with water I like to hunt the ones in the water. I think it is 50 nanites a pop, but pretty fun and you can look for critters and flora while you go from one to the other. The real name is Hadral Cores or something like that. They show up as interesting specimen or similar in bright yellow.

They are kind of rare, they can be found on any common biome type ploanet and might be on exotic biomes as well. Some planets may not have any while others you will be tripping over them, its very random. In the visor I think they are a triple star icon.

Buy and scrap A/S-Class Ships at stations. Sell the upgrade modules for nanites. About ~30000 nanites per hour at a busy station. It'll cost you a few million units.

No money, new game start or expedition? Scan creatures on planets for the full set bonus. Ignore planets that have "Rare underground" / "Rare daytime flyer" creatures, too hard to find.

or you could go to a pirate station buy all the larval + hadal cores you can and refine them to nanites (very quick and not expensive).

extra plus is that while you're doing that you can check out any ships (specifically solars) that fly in...or maybe do some ship scrapping

if you've previously visited other pirate stations, you can directly teleport to each of them in a loop

The other option, visit a pirate station, buy packets of suspicious weapons and technology. Head for a normal station, unwrap and sell for 64 nanites each. Since they are relatively cheap to buy that's also a quick way to nanite wealth.

The nanite ranch is better but finding deposits can be annoying.

They seem really random, so no way to limit your search. Fly slow and watching for the 3-star yellow diamond scanner icons. I seem to get better detect range for them on foot. I don't know that every planet has them, but if you do find a patch, there will be more.

Sadly, as of today that is no more. Pirates only sell 10 of them at the time now and they are expensive!
Also, you do not have to go to a normal station to sell, there is a merchant buying modules at the pirate station.

Salvage ships or early game scan creatures on planets.

Verified that Ship scrapping is still worth it. 10'000 nanites in 20 minutes. 12 Storage Augmentations... that seems higher than before.

I play the game and do not "farm" units (I don't use units beside frigates and eventually a new freighter) or nanites, however my way to get nanites (I need them for upgrades, blueprints, unlock companions/squadron slot, uograde ship/multitool class, etc) by playing is:
- Scan all fauna on a planet, it grants 250 nanites x animal
- Missions, grant directly or indirectly hundreds of nanites
- Find and scrap ships, bets way to expand your ship's inventory too
- Defeat pirates/sentinels and sell upgrades I get (If I don't use them)

Where do you find missions that awards you Nanites? I have found only in space station but they all award money.
Thanks for the scan tip.
