Would being here have any sway on whether or not I find the type of planet I'm looking for? Because if I have to travel out far then I'll just stock up on fuel, get as many good hyperdrive upgrades as I can and go out as far as possible.
The engine will always spawn plants and rock formations. And actual sand isn't a thing.
Also I've heard about sandworms and stuff, I assume they spawn on desert/sand/justgenerallyhot worlds?
I wouldn't mind rocky sand worlds with vegetation of course, but I'd still prefer a proper dune experience if possible
Do you roughly at all remember if there are any tricks to finding deserts? I think when you're looking at systems the lower the number the hotter? Or is it all just blind luck after that?
They can toss you 1000's of unit's into the air, the hard landing after the plummet from that height kills you.
(If you don't panic it's survivable but a bit of a shock when it happens).
I did find a planet that had the largest and most robust cave system I had ever found. The caves were so large that a lot of it had weather going on inside. You could easily fly a couple of ships around in the caves in many places.
Until I saw it, I would have thought that was highly unlikely. But it does exist. Maybe your vision exists somewhere out there, but it might take a lifetime to find it.
Its quite the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ place, but it'll forever hold a special place in my heart.
Its a shame that you cant have a proper sandy-desert planet though, real shame.
I have seen lots of pictures of "sandy" planets and "proper" desert planets, but again, theyre all from 2017ish and they seem to be really early in development, my guess is that they removed them from the engine because from what I can see every single planet needs the bare basics to survive and/or repair your ship.
I'm not sure if that planet still exists that way since I found in right after NEXT. (2018 iirc)
I know I'm like 2 years late but hope this helps lol
