Yes, but people who think No Man's Sky is buggy probably should avoid Daggerfall.

Starmade and Dual Universe are the only two games I can think of like no mans sky

Depending on exactly what you are looking for, here are two other "procedural generation open world" games:

I guess you did. Oh well, drive on by...

As others have mentioned, Daggerfall - but, as they also mentioned, it is very, very buggy.

I gave a dedicated try to play it some time ago, and only got so far before the bugs were just too much.

But - it is "fantasy like skyrim" (it's even a precursor of it), and "procedural generation open world".

Dwarf Fortress is also procedurally generated, open world fantasy. But if you think Daggerfall's interface and graphics are a bit dated, you probably should avoid Dwarf Fortress.

(Disclaimer: I have won Daggerfall, but only when it was the latest and greatest; I don't think I could play it now. I have only made a cursory attempt at Dwarf Fortress.)

I don't think fantasy games are particularly well suited for procedurally generated maps. They usually need more structure and interestingly designed maps.
Games like NMS and others, can usually pad out the content with building and crafting.

NMS was the first game I've played in well over a decade. After about 2000 hours in NMS, I finally tried another, Empyrion. I only have about 15 hours in that game so far. There are many similarities, but also some differences. Mostly around how things are done.

At this stage, it's mostly sandbox resource gathering, crafting and building. The processes to gather resources are very similar, but the crafting is a little more complex. You do need to be more mindful of heath and energy, and there are more creatures that are aggressive and can even make you sick. There is the added complexity of getting sick or poisoned that need healthcare. There are other races that are also aggressive, these take the place of sentinels.

So, at 15 +/- hours, Empyrion seems very similar to NMS. I'll see if it starts to diverge as I play more.
