Resources disappear from refineries!
Don't leave your base if you stick items in your refineries to refine while you go do other stuff, I just came back to my base which has 10 refineries and 4 of them were empty, over 5k each of rust, dust, copper, ammonia and Dioxite of mine just went poof!

Yep, this also happens with the portable autonomous mining units and portable autonomous atmospheric harvesters - if you warp to another system or save your game and return to it later, it's pretty much a guarantee that your autonomous units will be completely empty (including their fuel). I've had this happen with portable refineries and fixed refineries as well. Want to know the worst part about it? THIS HAS BEEN BUGGED FOR OVER A YEAR! I've submitted detailed bug reports to HG twice over the past year regarding the matter and have never received any reply save for the automated reply their support ticket system sends me.

This only happens if you have multiplayer enabled and there are other players in your group or system. If you have multiplayer disabled, your refinery and harvester inventories will be fine. I tested this with multiple warps and even left it overnight. Worked fine.

I'll try this out. Crossing my fingers. 🙃

This is not true, I disabled multiplayer a few days ago and it's still off after getting hit with the "guest" bug on my bases, and this bug just happened to me this morning unfortunately :(

There are reports that it still happens with multiplayer off.

I learned my lesson yesterday. Lost materials in the refinery... and a 60% charged batter went dead as well. Seems like everything resets when you leave the planet. And I had multiplayer off and no one else in the system, but I did visit the Nexus at one point. Maybe that caused it?

I didn't go to the Nexus, but did warp/teleport between systems/planets a fair bit

Just had this problem also.
Everything was fine until I reported to the anomaly. (2nd round)
Returned home and hello empty refineries.
All refineries are empty, no fuel- no mats
Restarted my computer out of frustration.
Everything is now where it was?
Hopefully it stays there this time :s
HG... please call Terminix or find some Raid? These bugs are trying to kill us!:steamsalty:

*** 30 mins realized it used last save... prior to going to nexus
checked items before going to nexus (again)
returned... to empty everything. yay... nexus is a no go for me.

This was discussed in another thread. The opinion of a couple of us was that telelporting away from your refining base caused the emptying of your refiners. This is not to say that there aren't other causes, like warping or save-loading. That should be playtested.

I posted this work-around/challenge that I did after having been away from the game since last summer. I figured the Beyond update would bugger my bases and wanted to try something besides just powering them up.

NMS Challenge:

Warp into yellow systems with 6 planets. Your goal is to find a system with one planet of each plant type: frost crystal & dioxite, gamma root & uranium, fungal mould & ammonia, cactus flesh & pyrite, solanium & phosphorus, star bulb & paraffinium.

It took me 16 systems to find one, and 5 of the 6 planets in this system have high/aggressive sentinels, but who really cares about that. I found a strong power node on each planet, made a decent base and planted tonnage of crops. No need for biodomes.

Some might ask, "With the advent of teleportation, why do these bases have to be in the same system?" The answer is, to avoid the problem which B4adle7 described above.

Teleporting out of your base empties your refiners. So don't teleport, or even warp. Just harvest your crops, collect your gases and minerals, load your refiners and fly your starship to the next planet. Make the whole cycle. Sure it takes a little while to do it right, but if you want to farm stasis devices and fusion ignitors this gets the job done. And with the Beyond update, we have lots of things like upgrades to spend our units on. Good luck.

I have had refiners in my base for a long time working fine.

Today was the first time I noticed they were all empty when I visited the base.

I thought that was just a random fluke (like soooo many other strange things in this game).

So I just filled up the refiners with the things I needed there and went about playing again.

When I came back later they were AGAIN empty. Now that was odd.

But what I have started doing these last couple of days is doing Nexus missions (solo because I don't need the hassle of having others join).

So I am pretty sure that if you do any of those missions with anything in a refiner it will vanish.

The only other thing I did just recently was get a living ship but that would be super strange if that had that effect.

I dont even understand what people are using all these refiners for? I am at 250 hours and have only used it in the first quest when you build it. Everything else is processed in my personal refiner. Which never glitches.

Higher ratio refines, combining things with oxygen results in things having a 5:1 ratio getting like 1:5 etc, though people normally do the mistake of jumping systems while refining in said refiners and thus resulting in losses.

A personal refiner is just inferior in terms of net yield

But why? I can easily buy stacks of everything being made in a refiner in seconds. Just seems like a big waste of time, but that of course, is just my opinion.
