Beacon indicator disappears with survey device or scanner use
I've been trying to use the survey device to find a good spot to place a base. I found a good power spot and placed a beacon. Then I used the survey device and scanner to try to find mineral deposits. I found one, placed a beacon, and then tried to find the other beacon to see how far apart they were and could not see it. Ran back in the direction where the power spot was, found it and the beacon is there but no star is showing up on the visor. Tried to find the one at the mineral deposit and can't see it either. Saved at the beacon right next to me, reloaded, and the beacons are both showing up... until I use the survey device or scanner again. :\

I also feel like the distance you can build from the base computer needs to be increased now that we have be close to a power source, and also the mineral and gas extractors have to be built within the radius also. It's impossible to find both power and mineral deposits close enough together, and I really would hate to have to have multiple base computers on the same planet.

I first saw this issue after attempting (and failing, receiving an error message) to create a 5th save beacon on a planet. Didn't see it at all beforehand, but seems constant now. I like all my beacons so I haven't tried removing one, but I'm subscribing here in case someone finds a workaround.
Same thing happening to me. Very frustrating! And I totally agree about needing bigger bases now. It could be helpful to be able to color code base icons if we're gonna need more than onel

I had same problem trying to put down a 6th beacon, game told me max 5 beacon per planet and all beacon stars went puff... i totally panicked, my fix was pick 1 beacon up, fly to anomaly, back to planet, scan planet for minor settlement, place beacon at settlement, save, enter building, talk to npc, exit building and all my beacon was back... pheeeeew

I had that problem with electromagnetic hot spots when I dropped a beacon there - no icon on the hud. I deleted and rebuilt the beacon and afterwards it showed up. But the hot spot itself shows up at the top of the HUD, once you've analyzed it, so you don't really need a beacon.

your beacon marker is at the same location as the resource you scanned... its still there... but you aren't going to see your beacon when you are in survey mode (is this intended, no idea).

Beacons don't disappear, just the beacon tag above the horizon. If you save and reload, or warp out and back, the beacons will be visible again. Reminds me of the disappearing ships in one's frigate. If you don't move your frigate, after awhile the ships are cleared away, presumably to reduce the graphic load. People have totally freaked out about that when returning to their frigate and finding all their ships gone. Warping the frigate to a new spot in that case causes the ships to reappear.

I know beacons don't disappear because I still run into ones I place TWO years ago. It's just the tag behavior that's goofy now.

The beacons have major bugs right now. When I'm surveying a planet, I usually plop a beacon at the good hotspots that I find that are in a nice location. I know the beacon won't be visible (the survey icon takes precedence, which is fine and is definitely by design; i.e. not a bug), but I put it there so when I reload the save I can easily find the hotspot again. But the beacons have major issues. Once I do settle on a spot to build, I put down my base computer and stake my claim, and then hop in my ship to go collect all the unwanted beacons. But each time I reach a beacon and pick it up, all the icons for the other beacons disappear. So I have to hop in and out of my ship to autosave, and then reload the save so the rest of the beacons show up again. I sometimes have to reload my save 5 times (the max number of beacons per planet) in order to cleanup my location prospects. It's not game breaking but it's very annoying. I also hate the fact that there's no distance indicator for beacons.
