SIX patches with no fix, and it is not just a steam issue, people who purchased through GOG have same problem. There is a 15 page 800 post discussion on this and NO word from Hello Games that the problem even exists!

Might not be applicable at all but I don't know enough about editing the input files to say yes or no.

Both of those work on keyboard. Grenades (which you can't use with every multi-tool mode) can be fired with right-click (and alt-fire mode can be switched with middle mouse click if you have say, personal forcefield or some other alt-fire tech installed as well).
The terrain manipulator now is resized with R (to make it smaller) and T (to make it larger), I think previously it was resized with the mouse wheel, but you can't always see the size of the 'globe' in the medium and large sizes if you're aiming at a point that's too close to your character.
A bit annoying that T toggles the flashlight at the same time, but oh well.
I'm also waiting anxiously for remapping to be fixed, because right-click for grenades can lead to accidental suicides, particularly annoying in permadeath, when you're clicking thru those new 'install this new tech' popups, but the defaults are not bad enough to stop me from playing while waiting for a patch to fix it. YMMV.
First of all we are talking about Mouse and Keyboard not controllers, secondly all the so called "fixes" don't work in both flying AND walking, thirdly I buy a game to be able to play, and if an update ruins something that was always there from the first I feel it the Dev's job to fix it. Unfortunately they have many other problems all stemming from releasing an update that was not ready. This update was slated for August 2nd, and wasn't ready then, so they pushed it out on the 15th with terrible results, as evidenced by the many threads with crashing, controller and keyboard issues.
That seems to be the state the industry is in today. Management pushes the developers to get the game out fast, If It's taking too long, they push harder. At some point, they are forced to release games before they are ready. It used to be that EA games were mostly finished. Now they are pre-alpha. Their sales dive before they are done and some games are abandoned because they can't continue to work on them without income.
Yes it's the devs job to fix it, but these sorts of changes will get you by in the mean time
