First off having a base isn't useless as through the base expansion missions you get VERY useful blueprints.
Secondly, setting up a base does not equate to "settling" since the game is very much intended for you to have multiple bases. (Hence why the game has a PORTABLE Base beacon)
Except for the lack of a hyperdive...
So what you're telling me is that there are no alternative ways to get those blueprints, just engage in this insanely boring base building charade? Oh brother... I'm starting to regret this purchase...
you don't seem to understand how little effort is required. just build a tiny shack to complete the quest and get your hyper drive then go do whatever the hell you want
I've spent 16 hours on base and tutorial quests and now I have to visit n+1 systems to upgrade my backpack so that i can continue doing base and tutorial quests....
What's worse is that I'm completing them but they don't complete or progress until i leave the system, then it tells me to go back to base.....
You may be able to buy those BPs in the Nexus in any case.
The only way to get the antimatter BP and actually play the main story line is to follow the Awakening mission. This may have changed in Beyond...but doubt it.
Floor x1
wall x1
roof x1
base computer x1
blueprint machine thing x1
portable refiner that can be put literally anywhere x1
and...
I'm pretty sure that's literally it.
Takes ~100 carbon/ferrite + the blueprint machine and you're practically entirely done.
You don't actually even need a "functional" base. The tutorial doesn't actually ask for one.
