Use NVIDIA Experience and update your driver choosing the clean install option when asked, I got many responses saying it worked for them.
Now, my problem hadn't anything to do with AMD either. I have an AMD, and everything is working fine for me ... I'm sorry I can't really help with your case. I'm really new to the game, and it seems a real pain not only for us and not only those we're facing. I've been on twitch to watch a french streamer I follow play NMS with 3 other french guys, and they were crashing so much and had so much bugs it was just a joke. After 2h, they still didn't manage to start their first quest ... Later, they understood how to avoid some bugs, but still had to quit game eventually and relog to prevent other bugs. It's not really stable by now. Hope they ll do something
As for me, I manually corrected the conf file and it went ok... I was inspired by youtube vids about dark screen, and though it was not the same problem as me, modifying conf files helped...
Try to figure ....
I had the same problem this morning and after reading a post here on steam (forgot which) a user suggested to change your FULLSCREEN to FALSE in one of the config files (forgot which) in your main installation folder then once in game you can change to the settings you really want and save it from there. Try that maybe.
Have you updated your drivers and tested the exprimental branch?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS
In this folder, edit file TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML
Try to change some settings (exemple, quality to low) or turn things to false.
What worked for me is turn this one to false:
<Property name="ShowRequirementsWarnings" value="false" />
