Invisible Wiring Option Needed
Wiring ugly and glitchy. Even where it does work, I now have lights and functional machinery sending giant, glowing blue/red wires - that don't look like wires - all over the place in an hideous grid of stupid. This change single-handedly took my favorite thing about the game (and reason I play) and flipped it to my least favorite. WTF, guys.

Super EASY FIX: Add a "laser wiring" tech that creates wiring that's only visible in the building mode.

Or just get rid of wiring and have a radius for power. It's just awful.

The wiring is pretty ugly. I thought I was missing something and I had set it up wrong.

Wiring is tedious, but can be cleaned up easily. I have ALL of my wires along walls and ceilings similar to the way wires run through walls in real life. They follow certain paths, so they don't get in the way. Not one single wire on the floor or in mid-air. Also try to string them together as close as you can to avoid having your entire walls covered. I usually run them upward (or down) between two room segments, run them along the ceiling near the corner etc.
Wires that leave the building also go along the walls and through the floor - from there along the terrain.

+1 for wires visible only in build mode

do you know you can bend wires? just place the loose end of the wire where you want the bend to be instead of connecting it to another socket in straight line. you can avoid making your base look like a spider's web :)
