Best Settings for VR, Should Help with FPS!

Just wanted to post what my settings are For VR, and what i had done to make the game run smooth for me.

So Try these Settings i have set below, And let me know how the game runs for you after.

My PC spec for those wondering:
i7-4790k 4.6GHZ (OC)
MSI Seahawk 2080 (OC)
16GB DDR3 (2400MHz)
Windows 10 (updated to latest version/patches)
NVidia Drivers 431.60

VR Headset:

Pimax 5k+ (2560x1440 per eye, FOV 170).
currently have my FOV set to LOW (130)
On Pitool Beta 1.0.1.144

My Input:
In graphic options.
the main settings like planet quality can be what you want.
but this is what works for me for my GPU.

I recommend having Anti-aliaising "Off"
As it causes the game to look VERY low Res/blurry in VR.
(some might like TAA to fix Shimmering)

I love HBAO, but it does cause low FPS in grass worlds, like the one in my pic.
So, i have it OFF

In Video Options:
Recommend to Turn off V-sync and limit MAX FPS to Headset Max Hz.
(mine is 90)

It's also recommended to set Resolution to the lowest.
So, the desktop viewpoint is not demanding at all.

Another thing that can be done to make the game run smoother.

Is to go to the game folder:
Open the file TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.VR.MXML with notepad. (SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\No Man’s Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS)

find the line

“NumHighThreads” value = “2”
“NumLowThreads” value = “4”

High = Threads
Low = Cores

I had set mine to
“NumHighThreads” value = “8”
“NumLowThreads” value = “4”

Extra Settings to change:

IF You're a NVIDIA user.
In NVIDIA Control Panel(right click desktop), set the power management mode to "prefer Maximum performance"

In Control Panel, Then Power Options in Windows 10.
Set The power options to "Ultimate Performance"

In Settings of Windows 10, Click on GAMING.
Then Set Game Bar "Off"
And Set Game Mode "Off"

Seen people still complaining, So i wanted to post mine.

Most that are complaining, are running less demanding VR headset then mine.
But better CPU then me.

Yet, with my settings, and how i have the game.
NO LAG at all, i might get something some times when i open my SteamVR then back into the game.

But, it goes away.

Yea, i did not show my NVIDIA control panel.

Thought that was common knowledge to set the power management mode to "prefer Maximum performance" XD

I got i7-8700k, 1080Ti, 16GB DDR4 and Pimax 5k
A lot of problems with a lot of settings, I try yours and tune the cores, I come here once I got some results.

You if you continue to have problems with pimax 5k+.
You can try "LOW FOV' Setting.

I am on Beta 1.0.1.144

Whats your FPS, how much SS from steam VR you got?

No much change between 50% or 80% SS in SteamVR. But I was able to make game run "smooth" and rarely hic ups or stuttering. FPS is 50-60 most of the time.
I wish I could get it to 80-90 somehow, but can't do much expect super low graphics and last time I tried that, it was not doing much.

i just keep both Pitool SS at 100%(1) and steam at 100%
