Help me [ GTX 1660ti ] Vulkan driver cant detect.

I can't seem to run this game as it give the Vulkan error whenever I start the game.
I've installed the latest Nvidia Driver 431.60 and VulkanRT but it still give me the same error.
Also the game runs under Nvidia GPU as shown in Nvidia Control Panel.

Does it means I have the vulkan however my 1660ti doesnt get detected?
This is odd I've searched through Google and Forum , no one seems to have the issue where the error message like this.


Laptop Spec:
AMD Ryzen 7 3750H
GTX 1660Ti
16GB DDR4

My issue is fixed. Method : Disable integrated GPU ( for me it is Vega Graphic ) in the device manager

Yes, the vega 10. This did work, i've disabled the vega10 in device manager and even restarted but windows was all enlarged as if there were no drivers installed. I disable my iGPU everytime before I start the game now, and yes desktop icon and all the thing will be enlarged but it doesnt bother me when Im playing the game, just enable it back (iGPU) after you done playing. And looks like your game is not running with the 1660ti, just go to Nvidia Control Panel and do what Zethkon said in the 1st step.

The game also run poorly with Vsync On, I turn it off and it runs smoothly on High setting.

if your desktop it looking all enlarged on your dedicated GPU, just change the display settings to your native resolution. It'll only have to be done the once and then it will display correctly from then on.

It really sounds like it almost never uses the 1660ti if it's not even configured correctly for your display. Something definitely seems off with your configuration. Would you mind fully closing steam, disabling the Vega10, and then re-launching steam and getting your system specs from steam -> help -> system information?

Doing those steps will force steam to detect your correct 1660ti's driver environment. you can copy all that system information with a right click, and paste it here (Or just the GPU section if you prefer).

Well that's weird, after disabling the vega and starting steam it still seems to be using the vega? Even though the vega has disappeared from the performance tab in task manager and it's only utilising the 1660Ti. Perhaps that's why the display is enlarged? Computer is confused af as to what it's meant to be doing so it's loading the wrong display drivers?

Oh, I forgot! You used DDU, right? Lol, sorry, yeah the Display would be all the wrong resolution like that if you forgot to re-install the nvidia GPU package after using DDU :) That will be why your game was 3FPS, it'll be running on generic windows drivers.

double check that system information to make sure the drivers aren't installed (look at the driver date, or post here), and if they aren't, installed the correct driver package for your 1660ti.

It must be running the generic windows drivers, as I've said above as a possible answer, but I made sure to install the latest driver and restart.

You never disable GPU in the device manager.

Look at my previous post page 1 . Check to see if one or the other option is good for you.

Yeah, you'll have to disable it via your BIOS. Your key to enter BIOS will likely be 'delete', so just tap that during boot. The bios key could also be F2, or maybe F12... so just start tapping all of them I guess lol.

The option to disable the integrated GPU will be in advanced settings somewhere, but you probably have a search bar on your Asus BIOS and you might be able to use that to find the option.

While your in your bios, disable the splash screen on bootup so you get the full un-hidden bootup text (along with which key to enter BIOS for next time)

Thank you all for the help, it finally works. I couldn't be bothered screwing about anymore so figured it won't hurt installing amd radeon drivers for the vega 10, since that's what's reporting as not having any vulkan support(as you do, since there were no drivers for it), and now it launched perfectly without any tinkering! :)

Radeon Software Version 19.8.1. Who would've thought that installing GPU drivers would solve your driver issues? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ /s

I have a self built Intel i7-4770K CPU 3.50 GHz on the Z87X-UD5H Motherboard with 32 GB of RAM. My GPU is a Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB, GDDR5, 256 bit. I run Windows 10, 64 bit. Steam really should advise people that their GPU may not support Vulkan, which appears to be an AMD NOT Intel program. I've tried everything and can no longer run the game.

Okay, I went into my bios setup and disabled iGPU . . . I started up 8 other games in Steam with absolutely no problem. I re-installed NO Man's Sky and it actually started this time and I could hear the music but all I got was a black screen. So no joy. If another update comes out soon, I'll give it another go . . . but I have already wasted too much time trying to get this game to run.
