I Lost My Ship?
I have a question. I don't understand because I'm new to the game. On one of the early starting missions, you discover a crash site where you learn a little bit about "Artemis". This crash site has a beacon that you have to repair, and it has a broken down ship.

I went over to the broken ship and repaired a few of the components, and then I clicked "claim/add to collection" it warned me something about inventory transfers, and then I proceeded. Now this new ship is the one I can get into, but I can't access my starting ship. I can't use the x command "switch ships" either. It's like it just deleted my old one. That would be terrible since I had many resources on it. Anyone know whats going on?

I found a workaround for claiming abandoned ships and losing your previous. Hopefully they fix soon.

If you move ALL your cargo from your previous ship to the abandoned one so you don't get prompted with the warning about "exchange your cargo or lose it", then it will claim for free and keep your other ship. Just did this on my new save.

I spent a few hours reloading saves and reading different forums over this when it happened to me. Apparently it's bugged. If you can, reload an old save and do not claim this ship.

If you want to continue on your save, repair the thrusters. Everything else on the ship can be broken.

Go into the quick menu and you can spawn any ships you have there.

Thats the problem. The old ship wont show up in the quick menu to spawn. It is gone. You cant re-enter it, you cant respawn it. And after a game reload it dissapears completely.

This is devastating for me as a newer player. I did claim/add to collection on that first abandoned ship and had all of my items in my old (better) ship. The game deleted my old ship and it is not accessible by the quick menu, even after I repaired the new ship.
I had not been making manual saves, and the auto-saves are all after the fiasco. This strands me on a new planet with nothing, basically resetting me back to the stone age 20 hours in to the game.

its like a complete new developer&compilergroup was "updateing" the game and broke anything you like to play with

Yeah I try to reload and it makes me lose my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ freighter. So I either have to choose between my best ship, or a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ship that I have to spend all day mining to repair, and my freighter

if anyone finds any other workarounds, please post. I either lose all my stuff and have to spend hours getting the materials to make the broken ship have actual storage space, or I lose my freighter. I heard this game got way better than it was, but apparently its still broken beyond belief

to top it all off, I dont have the tritium to repair the thusters. Tritium which I need to get from asteroids. Guess im losing my freighter

You do not need Tritium to repair your Pulse Engine, only to refuel them. And you only need fuel in your Launch Thrusters to take off, not your Pulse Engine.

Launch Thruster fuel is easily made with Di-Hydrogen (blue crystals) and metal plating,

This garbage happened to me too. I was at least able to get my new broken ship flyable, and 60% repaired so far...however, that is only because I found an artifact that sold for 2.5M. No fu cking way that I would have been able to without a decent bank account. Still going to cost me another couple million to fix all the slots - 21 wiring looms required. Asinine garbage.
