The cooking is a bit interesting, i'm having a bit of fun exploring it.

This one I just worked out this morning and haven't seen it anywhere else yet.

Cake Batter + Monstrous Custard = Horrifying Gooey Delight.

I am gonna play with the monstrous custard for a while and see what else it may go with that's edible !
I feel there's more for me to get from the Ice Cream mentioned earlier also. Thanks for letting us know that one.

Edit for more custard recipes

Pie Case + Monstrous Custard = The Spawning Tart
Lumpen Doughnut + Monstrous Custard = Monstrous Doughnut

You need an eyeball.
Thanks for that bandit.
You put me onto the ice creams in the first place, great work.

The larval cores and eyeballs are something i was heading for after i got most of the animal farming done. This morning I was lucky enough to get a community mission to collect larval cores for a reward of some eyeballs.
Can't take all the credit. If not for everyone else here I'd still be stuck on doughnuts and pies!
Ive been working on cooking too.
I know the data has been mined and given out but trying to do it without using that.
Started a spread sheet for my progress, atm its going slow :)

Been using the Wiki and have started to add links to the Genus and results in the sheet.
Wasnt happy with the wiki when it came the the starting recipies hence the sheet.

I see what you mean by Genus, interesting idea!

Well, good news: It's a wiki, it's being written by "you and me", and there is not one answer how it is to be done. You're free to propose a better format.

I can help out with wiki formatting when you're done, but I am too lazy and not enough of a completionist to play this cooking minigame and make the spreadsheet myself. ;-) I would continue with cooking if the food items had different purposes, like in Zelda BotW, but, oh well.

It was mainly for the Starting section, with... I dont know ? Thousands if not millions of permutations. I dont think I will continue the sheet.

For example I see 48 starting Ingredients thats 1128 permutations of A+B , A+C, B+C etc etc (I think)
And thats just 2 items on the starting ingredients.
Once you create a new item from the starting Ingredients the permutations grow very fast :)

Definitely. Wiki pages grow, people add to it, until over time, we see the pattern that develops, and come up with a better summary for the repetitive permutations.
Someone already inserted the "cleanup" box, and I noticed someone is cleaning up the refiner recipe pages, too. Just saying, don't be discouraged, keep adding to it. :-)
I'll give up.
Finding Mogara took me few hours (probably 10). To get some Proto Milk I was forced to build an another one base because game not allow to build Feeding/Collecting stuff outside of the base. Idi**ic idea btw. I don't have even one free slot. Nutrient Processor enlarged with SaveEditor up to 25 slots and full. Exocrafts full. Ship full. SpaceSuit full. Only Storage Containers half empty, but game not allow to add this storage space when you cook (!!!???).
When I remember that I haven't found yet Diplos - I wanna cry. This whole game mechanic is so stupid. I'd love to hang the originator of all this cooking.

You don't need the collection/feeding machines to collect eggs, milk etc. those allow you to automate the process but they are not REQUIRED.

To collect animal resources:
1) Scan a creature to identify it's preferred food
2) Make it's preferred feed in a nutrient processor and put it in your inventory
3) Go to your quick menu (X on PC keyboard, or left wrist UI in VR, dunno about consoles)
4) Navigate to Utilitiess -> Baits, and find their preferred feed in the list
5) Throw it on the ground.
6) Once they've eaten the bait, you will be able to walk up to them and gather from them with the use function

Hes right about Inventory though.
The Ingredients needs to be about 500 (that only accept ingredients) slots NOT 10 or what ever it is.
It also needs to be tabbed with categories of the devs choosing Tier 1 - tier 2 etc or Raw - Dairy etc.
Even better would be 10 pages of 50 slots, with the tabs being nameable by the player.

Then fix that fat guy in the Nexus who takes cooked products to alow us to select the Item we sell to him so hes not asking for Baits or Carbon Nanotubes instead of the tier 5 item your carrying !!!!!!!

Also fix the pricing so its not 800u for a T1 and 800u for a T5 - Fix the Nanite prices too !

I've been wanting to start trying new recipes, but I'm not that far along in this stuff yet. I did experiment a little to see if I could produce something different in what little I collected from the animals and some plants.
Oh, I did get and saved some "feline liver" and also have some other type of meat.? The pic looks like hamburger. So, anyone know if you can cook both together to make something.?
That's one of the simpler arrangements. You have processed meat, offal and vegetable. Broadly speaking these are 'doubled up' to make a basic stew which can be further modified by repeating the process with some additional materials and mixing them together.

2a = x 2b = y x + y = z

There's one for each of the four savoury food groups - cheesy, creamy, fiery and veggie. :steammocking:

Note: cheese is the exception here. You do not liquefy it by adding more cheese.
