Galaxy map is blank or not loading

Im still on my first planet. Worked about 6 hours on the game and got my warp drive finally but when i go into space to warp by accessing my galaxy map all i see is yellow/orange dust clouds and nothing to select. When i bit B on my controller everything locks up. The game still running but none of my controls or buttons work after that. When i restart and i do it again but without pressing b but instead i hit the start button to exit the map i can leave that way but im stuck on my planet. cant leave. Restarted several time tested this several different ways. Im going to uninstall and reinstall and see if that works.

Should probably just try and verify the files before reinstalling from scratch. If that doesn't work, a reinstall probably won't either.

I did the integrity verification and it didnt work. I did reinstall it, still nothing. Guess ill have to wait for the next patch.

I'm having the /exact/ same issue as of this morning. I saw some things from 2016 suggesting switching from single-player to multiplayer and vice-versa messes things up, but in the time I've had the game (only a couple days) I've been able to switch back and forth with no issues. Restarted game and verified files several times to no avail :(
