Fulfil [The Sentry's] Wish Free from Sentinel Hivemind Bug
So I am at the point where you go to free Sentry from the hivemind, but as soon as you walk up to the Sentinel pillar the coordinates reset away to when you touch down on the planet. This loops and there is no way to free Laylaps...

I have saved and reloaded, left the planet and the system. Done other quests and come back to it with the same results. Any suggestions?

Furthermore, when you stand next to the pillar, it just keeps resetting the coordinates as if you have just re-entered the system. Selecting the pillar after killing off all the Sentinels and the 3 boxes just provides you with a 'leave' option. There is no way to progress forward with the mission.

Is that the correct pillar? What does your mission locator scan indicate?

If nothing else works....
I would get far enough away and try to reset this mission. You have to get 1,000 to 5,000 ly away. That's about 5 warps depending on your hyperdrive range.

If that works it should find a different planet and pillar.

I will give that a go :)

Make sure to talk to laylaps. Most of the things about this "mission" involves also talking to laylaps to advance it once arriving at a location.
I did, they just keep repeating how good a team we are :)

So I reset the mission and now I am stuck at getting the Atlas beacon pop up. Because it isn't stuck to one location I am now stuck again :'(

If you have mods installed, try to disable all those.

Are you talking about the Atlas phase of the mission where he appears in a system when you use pulse drive?

This happened to me. I completed the whole trace of metal quest apart from freeing Laylaps from the hive mind as I had the same issue as OP. I stupidly reset the quest and now I have to once again find a 'pristine' walker brain, with no way for me to do so given that my mech is now fully upgraded and only standard walker brains drop from walkers. So yeah, reported to Zendesk. Wait for a patch I suppose.

It sounds like he has the hacked brain and can't get the atlas thing to appear.

When resetting the mission it should remove all (trace of metal) tech from your mech and have you start from the beginning, that's the only solution I can think of.
