Big windows gone?
Just got back into it after a long absence -- are the big full-wall window pieces gone? I liked those, and now it seems all I have are tiny horizontal windows to use. I do love a lot of the new pieces, but that was kind of an important one for me.

They still exist for me on my old saves (i.e., saves created before the change) under the "Legacy Structures" tab. But if there is a way to obtain them with new saves, I don't know how.

At least for the new wood set, there is a piece that is basically all window - "Triple wooden window", I think it is called. It isn't on the list in the research thing you build at a base, you need to go to the anomaly to get it, and it is buried on the third or fourth level of the tree.

I dunno, but on PC, the Z key opens the building menu, if that helps.

Yes, thanks. Up on the D pad. I haven't seen the Legacy Structures tab, but I'll look again. All the newer building menus are new to me.

On the PC, it is the very last tab. But as I said, it's only there if playing an old save. It is not there on my new saves, nor can I buy the recipes (which I think they should allow, because I have a lot of good reasons for not liking the new textures, and the lack of pure glass walls is the biggest one.)

Maybe I'll look for the big building mod I heard about a while back.

I love all the new stuff, but I want my window wall.

Yeah, same here. Let's hope that they reinstate them.

I choose my base locations for the views, among other things, which is pretty much pointless now.

I like them for the views, but mostly for the light, since none of the lights in the game actually produce any amount of light worth building them for. :steammocking:

Seriously, that's amazing HG can't make lights produce light. Love those devs, but damn son.

i like those walls with the large windows, too... funny because IRL, nope... you can easily add those old metal and concrete building parts to a save with goatfungus' save editor... i've done it several times...

when adding them (add product button), click on the ID column header to sort them by ID... then scroll down to '^C_' for the Concrete and '^M_' for the Metal... you can click on the first one, scroll to the last of them, hold CTRL and click to highlight individual ones or hold SHIFT to select a range of them... then click the add button to add all the selected ones in one fell swoop...

i like their glass floor panels, too... i use them for roofs... ^C_GFLOOR and ^M_GFLOOR with the walls being ^C_WALL_WINDOW and ^M_WALL_WINDOW...

This too has bugged me, I like the legacy parts. On Xbox. even if I visit from my PC normal save that has the blueprints and place the parts, they disappear. I only have one Xbox save that has the legacy part blueprints.

Unfortunately, the only way I know to get them on newer PC saves is the save editor. You can add those old legacy parts in the Discovery tab under known products.

This is even more annoying: why does only wood (you know, the material NASA and Roscosmos et al built the ISS from…) have those really large windows?
