What have they done NOW . Stutter/FPS Drops
Seriously, how can so called programmers mess up a game consistently with every patch, it is great the amount of added content that has been added since launch but perhaps they should instead look to fix older issues...sigh, It used to be that you could open up TKGRAPHICSETTINGS and alter the max and min "core" setting for your CPU, apparently Hello Games only use single core CPU`s so are blissfully unaware that CPU`s can indeed have more than 1 core to utilise, now however since the last sentinel update that no longer works, in short the game is now completely unplayable for me, I even tried to turn every setting to the absolute minimum, no difference, Looked in task manager, found the game was trying to load all it`s processes into "Core 3", disabled core 3 to see if the damn game would start to work like an actual program and it pushed everything onto "Core 5",, Asked my Sons (live in same house) to try playing it on their systems (Completely different system hardware) and lo and behold they had it as well... My system Intel i7 8700k , Asus Hero X mb (ROG), Asus RTX3090-Strix (ROG) 64GB DDR4 3600, M.2 game drive (2TB), My sons are AMD 3950 Cpu with a RTX2080Ti 64GB ram x2, does any-one else have these issues or is just us and is there a new fix that works or do we have to wait for either a patch to fix it (yeah right) or a mod fix perhaps..sigh, I would like to play again but it is not at all playable anymore useless you wish to develop a serious Migraine (again).

Full stops would help me be able to read what your issue is. Sentence too long.
Try to delete

TKGAMESETTINGS and TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS files. Then run repair game from steam which re download the 2 deleted files.

From in-game settings, audjust the max FPS count with the same HZ of your monitor on windows os screen. Example, my monitor is set to 100hz and the max fps count in game at 100.
I used to disable V-sync since I have G-sync monitor (1440p), but it seems NMS does not support or mess with it, and so leave V-sync on at default settings.

With rtx 3060ti and i7 9700k I left all at high settings as default, and only textures increased at ultra. DLSS set to quality ( under antialias in-game menu). All the rest at the default.

This has fixed my recent stuttering, screen tearing, and lag with the game. GL

I have an I7 3770k with 16gig ram and a GTX 1070. I run the game at 2560x1440 with most settings maxed. I have no issues. I turn off v-sync, motion blur and vignette. The game appears to use all eight threads of the cpu. It seems like everyone who complains about stuttering issues have very high end systems with RTX GPUs.

Oh yes, forgot to mention. Motion blur always off.
I find the shutter and FPS thing baffling. I only experience it on my Creative save. It only has two bases and I have explored very little of the galaxy. My main normal save, with about 100 bases and three near the 3000 piece cap doesn't shutter or have FPS drops. I don't experience it on the Expeditions either, with MP enabled. What is it about creative mode that is different.

Much easier to read that way :steammocking:
One more thing just came to my mind. Always drivers updated to latest version, and DO NOT install the GE force experience, only the drivers if u don't do streaming, to max performances.

Thank you for all your replies, and it is interesting that a few of you mention this seems to effect mostly high end systems (I Honestly class mine as Med-High as the CPU is 3 generations out now), In answer to another few questions,my Screen res is 3440x1440p, and the monitor Hz is set at default 180hz (not OC to 200hz on an asus Swift ROG PG35VQ), and the igame fps setting is mirrored to that rate. For me setting the screen to borderless seems to have done the trick, and leaving it to render everything in for 5 mins (time for a Cuppa to brew) and I am now able to play again without any stuttering or FPS drops. So again a big thank you for all the suggestions. :)

Um, ok. Thanks?
I also have stutters in my game, in my case I have an i5 6500 and an rx 580, should I resign myself and try to get used to it?

Here's a video that might help.

Did you try the guide in post #9 of this thread? I haven't done a formal tally, but IIRC the people that have reported greatly reduced stutters have all had older i5 cpu's. That is, when they do actually list their computer specs. Not everyone has listed their specs, so that could be coincidence.

My system: i7 7700k GTX 1080Ti 64gig ram, 500Gb SSD system drive, 2Tb SSD game drive

As of 5 days ago, I was running the game just fine on Ultra settings - sure my graphics card makes a lot of heat and noise, but the game rendered very well.

Then, it began with the stuttering and 10 fps thing.
I tried all the suggestions, nothing worked.

But I remembered one thing... about the time it started running poorly, I had previously run "Nvidea Geforce Experience" for the *Very First Time* since my fresh install of Windows.

I Uninstalled Nvidea GeForce Experience, and PRESTO!! The game runs smoothly as it did before. I'm pleased as punch.
Hope this helps anybody!
Has anyone tried the Numthreads trick? It's an oldie but I've just returned to the game after a 2 year break and I'm wondering if it still helps?
