Do expedition bases carry over to normal yet?
I noticed last time i played, in the last new expedition, that the uploaded bases i made couldn't be seen when i visited the same planet on normal mode (different save after the expedition). anyone know if this changed since?

Don't really feel like building much this time if it hasn't changed :/

I think it's an entirely different mode, just like there are no hostile worms outside of the expedition mode.
I might be wrong though.

You can't visit your own base with a different save. That is true for all modes.

For uploaded bases too? I mean, mine or other's bases, I didn't see any of them after expedition. The whole point of uploading bases via a base computer was to allow them to be seen with other saves by others (if its on the same mode). Since expedition isn't a proper mode it always seemed weird it doesn't just transfer all bases to normal server-side like how you can convert those saves to normal mode afterwards already.

Unless you are planning to keep the expedition save after it ends, there is no reason to do most things that are not required by expedition parameters.

Others can see your uploaded bases. Unless you have a 2nd account with the game, you can never see bases you created in one save on another save.

Each save is a different iteration of you, not the same you. So no you can not see other bases unless they are in the save you are currently playing.

The uploaded bases I'm not to sure about. But it would stand to reason that your bases need not be downloaded since they should be in you save.

this ^^^
this is the best explanation i've seen in all the time i've been keeping up with NMS... it follows the design of the game, too... different iterations of the same being don't know what they have done as another iteration...

Another fun fact.... If you have an uploaded base on one save, no one can see it while your playing on another save.

This.

Basically the server only holds the uploaded based if which ever save you used last. Which kind of makes sense from a server side perspective. Trying to hold data for all 15 save would increase server cost.

So instead of just keeping all the bases server-side the server spends time wiping all your other save's bases and re-uploads every base from your current save every time when you load in/switch save? would've thought that would end up with a lot more server use even if it cuts down on storage but whatever.
Guess that means it really isn't worth building much in other saves... (oh well, i did take screenies for a reason)

Does also make me wonder how many decent bases get removed forever from online just because the using normal/survival and permadeath achievements are more likely to be the last ones done: players only spending time building on their first save and don't go on that first save again after playing the other saves.
Kind of a shame... but i guess ill now go back to wishing all the legacy base parts (especially concrete) were quicksilver bought, while i destroy all my bad looking bases on my first (main) save so i can make some decent ones, now that i know only my bad looking ones can be seen by others currently... =_=

That's what appears to be the case. I think most players only use one or two save regularly so it doesn't matter that much.
