Can't get past fixing the first ship

When I download the Planetary Chart that should show where the building is to get the Hermetic Seal, Hold E, and nothing happens.
I get the message Planetary Chart misplaced ...... downloading backup. But that does the same thing over and over.
Game is unplayable in this state ....... any ideas?

that is a new one . never ran across that bug ...not as bad as ship in volcano ..but close.

Yes it is the planetary chart you get from that first beacon that is not working.

I have restarted 3 times and the same scenario plays out each time.

are you using any mods...if so, are they updated for the current NMS version...maybe disable all mods and see if that fixes it.
if no mods...try verify the game files in steam

Considering that the game has just been started, I would then try a restart...
Maybe you are not close enough to any near building..?

Can you please say in greater detail exactly what happens? Devil is in the detail :)

-Do you get the Planetary chart placed in your inventory?
-If so, what do you do with it?
-What happens after that?
-When you say you restarted 3 times, do you mean starting new games in different locations?

Hmm, that does leave a sour taste… But you have 2 options:
1: Use the Save Editor to both fix your ship & give you the Hermitic seal blueprint
- or -
B: Delete the save & start a new one (this time heed Polo’s request & shoot the 1st Vy’keen you see )

First I want to thank all of you for taking the time to try and help me figure this out.
Second I think I may have found the cause.
I have always used the bonus content to switch out the "Radiant Pillar BC1" with the bonus content "Horizon Omega" ship.
This morning I tried just going ahead and fixing the Radiant Pillar to see if that made a difference ... it worked.
LOL I'm almost afraid to introduce the Horizon Omega into this play through but I am going to. Will let you know how that goes.

Well the Horizon Omega worked after fixing the first ship. The problem now is ..... after I visit the anomaly for the first time the game refuses to recognize any saves after leaving the anomaly. Not sure what the heck is up with that, even tried moving the anomaly to another system>
Oh well, time to uninstall / reinstall the game to see if that helps LOL
