Please, what is the use for Hardfrane engine? I have lots of it but still don't know how to use it.
Is it used to create a Sentinel companion?

You need it to build your mech

it's used to build a specific upgrade (the legs) for your exo-mech. It and several other upgrades will turn your exo-mech into a hardframe mech.

You get these upgrades from the "Trace of Metal" questline. You'll also get a device which summons a small friendly sentinel drone, which does a few things occasionally, but is mostly cosmetic.

i have a question regarding this. I have the mission for the hardframe engine. I did three fights to the end, i saw those hardframe things. But when i shoot it with the mining laser, it only gives nanites. How do i get that darned hardframe engine to upgrade the legs?

do not shoot at the loot barrels dropping from the hardframe mechas, use them, pressing the "e"button

Kill a Sentinel Mech (the small walking one, not the big walker) and loot its dropped barrel.
Can also sometimes be found in 10-packs in Harmonic Scrap on Dissonant planets.

After you have upgraded your Minotaur mech into the blue Sentinel-tech-enhanced version, AFAIK, additional Hardframe Engines just become money loot.

I keep one stack of 20 around "in the back closet", just in case anyway.

Seems like I needed one once or twice to repair battle damage on the Minotaur.

Yeah, they should really be used as an ingredient for crafting a Frigate Consumable (Quad Servos and Walker Brains are both used this way).

Thanks. Are there the new dissonant ones? The only walking ones I've seen are tre regular ones. I'm surprised my little drone hasn't been more forthcoming in this respect, he's been quite helpful so far.

No, there isn't a Corrupted equivalent of the Mech or Walker (yet??). Dissonant planets may not have standard sentinels anywhere.

The easiest way to get them is at Sentinel Pillars - just access the terminal and turn off the sentinels and the mech guarding the pillar will self-destruct and leave you its engine.

It'd be neat if they turned them into an ingredient for new consumables for the Minotaur. Like a damage boost, temporary shield, jump boost, etc. Or even to create command mods that cause the AI to focus on certain tasks, like mining ore or gathering certain ground resources.
So they're relevant to their original use.

I HATE collecting Quad Servos. Hardframes are much easier.
That is the reason I SELL extra Hardframes...but I KEEP EVERY Quad Servo.
