Blurry/muddy textures on Ultra settings
Hey, i have a massive problem with the damn texture streaming in this game, i never expierenced this issue so much in such a short time!

So this is how it is: i start the game, load my save and everything is fine. but after maybe 15 mins or half an hour or maybe just some jumps from system to system or even just going to the anomaly cause the game to decide to give me low res textures.
i tried different attempts to come by this damn problem, but nothing helps....
playing on ultra + dlss performance on a 3070.
the game runs fine performancewise, just the textures are buggy af!
any help?

This mod should take care of the issue
Beat me to it. That mod is the fix.

Im going to assume it has something to do with the bounds of texture memory being reached, either because of the games settings for what max is, or reaching rams limit. or (but i doubt) graphic card memory limit. as for most it seems to come after a long time or a ⋆Star⋆system change.

both of which are causes for more and new textures to be loaded. Likely within the memory constraints set by the game itself to prevent using too much memory on various platforms. PS4 XBOX and so on.

with 'Mods' the memory limit and management is subjugated to some other instructions defined by the mod creator.

This hypothesis is furthered by the fact that for most people reporting the issue "Changing the graphics settings" temporarily clears the problem. That would be due to the texture cashe getting cleaned and reloaded when you change graphics settings.

Got the same problem. Just came back to the game after being gone for over a year. Saw the new update and thought I'd jump back in. No real problems except for the texture/memory leak/muddy after so long stuff. Hope it's fixed soon.

it's small things like the issues in this thread that keeps me away, it's really annoying. the edge of water too with dlss on at 1440p. grimy, shame cause i enjoyed it for a wee while.

even when i use this mod i get sometimes ugly textures but not forever like before, this is indeed an improvement :D

Hmmm. I fixed this problem just by lowering all of my graphics settings 2 notches. Which is actually the NMS suggested settings for my graphics card. But I know that many of you have way better cards than mine.

Part of me feels like I shouldn't have to use a mod for something they broke with a patch. The other part of me just downloaded and installed the mod.

We can hope they will still fix it so we can stop using the band aid that this mod provides and go back to unmodded status.

Be nice guys. Remember Nvidia and so on release new drivers and software all the time, and expect every game company to drop what they were trying to work on, to get onboard with what changes Nvidia (and others) decide they should be making.

I mean, if i was writing a book.. and microsoft said, Hey, were changing your windows version right now! pay attention to us!" id be pretty miffed. i guess it's a good thing im not writing a book! or you know. running win10 or above. >_>

Hello-Games will get to it. just make tickets, file reports. squeaky wheels get oil. But theres no reason to revolt! Hold your horses, you instant gratification junkies! lol

Tried mod but it bugged my living ship. So I took the texture setting down 2 notches and the problem went away. As of 2/28 experimental branch it's still not fixed.

I turned tessellation down a notch and it helped extent the play time until the textures go bad. However it did not stop it and it still happens.
